I’ve always had luck finding new take-offs at the various upfitter shops that the dealers use to equip their new inventory for extra-high profit margins. Lots of that stuff finds its way to the dumpster!
An acquaintance of mine started a very successful lift shop that mostly dealt direct with dealers to build their upsell inventory. Like he always told me, “nobody wants the OEM crap!”. He literally had two dumpsters on-site and they were used to toss the (factory new) stuff on a weekly basis! Suspension parts, bumpers, running boards, grills, etc that he replaced with aftermarket stuff with his builds. He did set most of the tire/wheels aside in the back lot and would give them to needier people from the church and parents of co-students of his own kids that could use a helping hand.
These days there are more companies making a secondary business out of takeoffs, but due to the size and weight of most of that stuff it’s more in tune with selling face to face.
Over the years I’ve bought factory new take-off tires/wheels at huge savings over new for most of my vehicles.
Lots of used tire places exist these days too. They usually get their inventory from local new tire shops. They resell what still has life left and recycle the rest.
