ASAP Emissions Intact tuning

Easy on the pedal with lugging all that weight, tuned or not.

The next weakest link on the 6.7 no one talks about is the crank gear. It is pressed with no keyway; highly suspectible to spinning.

I don't lug around 10 tons but that is on my dire to-do list once I get the opportunity. Melt that sucker to shaft.
solid advice

Yes dude

I'm not going to void my 150k mile warranty.

I need not only emissions safe, but warranty friendly as well.

You're right. I'm not a diesel guy. I've built only older gas engines.

I'm just here with my dumbass opinion.

I will not do anything that voids my warranty.

I average about 25k miles/year so maybe we can talk about real tunes in another 5 years.

Until then, I'm extremely happy with the drivability i get from the pedal monster, and was hoping to step up to the full "fooler" because they're easily removable and undetectable if something does break under warranty.

Can be done on the roadside easily.

Can't hide a real tune.
they're not as undedectable as you would hope, just fyi, i covered that in a previous post here. Many manufacturers are catching onto inline devices.

Then i can wait.

Like i said , only the one issue left to complain about That's the harsh 1-2 upshift occasionally.

Maybe I'll ask the dealer to reset the table, or maybe I'll finally commit some time to a forscan session.

I would LOVE if it would start off in 2nd most of the time, but again. . Warranty.

It really is a catch 22.

Don't do the trans tune .. it might break. But it's covered.

DO the trans tune... less likely to break, but won't be covered.

I like to hear this report. I tow quite frequently but only about 9000 pounds so I was curious which tune to use. For daily driving you think the 130 HP is best?
I use the +130hp daily / unloaded (as mentioned it's +155hp on my S.O. truck) - My latest truck is a dually, so it weighs about 9K when not towing, and 630hp for 9k lbs is passably quick. I don't concern myself with mileage, that can be controlled with my right foot. I didn't find any noticeable difference in mileage between the tunes (or stock) on my 2025 truck which did lots of highway.

When towing, ASAP suggested the +60 (actual +85) is the sweet spot, and it works well, never gets hot, and pulls grades A LOT better than stock. Shifting is greatly reduced as it ramps boost more effectively and higher before downshifting. It probably uses more DEF, but towing a 20K house on wheels eats DEF either way.

As mentioned, the ASAP tunes are excellent overall. The trans tunes are nice as well, as they eliminate headaches.

My truck spends as much as 5 minutes at a time full boost / whatever RPM if that is what the hill calls for. Same on the way down, 3500rpm and full engine brake.....it is what it is.

Time will tell, but it gets zero mercy and never gets too hot. I think people misunderstand how these trucks work, synthetic oil, factory filters, and let er eat.

That said, i don't expect to keep it past 160k miles.

If you are experiencing shifting flares, I recommend trying a relearn strategy.

I had this issue last year after tuning, but it can also happen from sudden acceleration or jerking of the transmission, such as suddenly romping on it.

Aggressive driving can also cause the transmission to need “relearning.”

It’s simple, find a long, flat stretch of road with no traffic, and follow the instructions to perform all the upshifts.

This fixed my problem and my shifts have been flawless ever since.
Thank you.
I did a google search for TCM relearn procedure on my year truck with scattered results. Do you have a link to the procedure? Thanks so much
