All in one air system - What are you using?

I apologize if this has been answered. Is the port on the ARB compressors 1/4"? The popular Viair tanks are 1/4" ports as well. That seems a little small to me. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I saw this video today actually, I was a little surprised in their placement of the air system within the cabin. They are Canucks, so maybe this has to do with cold exterior temperatures? (I dunno, I frankly couldn't think of any reason to mount the compressors inside the cabin. Like...losing that space under the back bench seems like a huge sacrifice.

For the budget conscious, I use a NAPA Heavy Duty 12V Air Compressor ($150). It does need a few mods, I added a pressure switch and swapped out the proprietary hose for a quick connect. Airs all four tires from 20-65 psi in ~10 minutes.

Added some “nice to haves” to my Twin ARB… finally got the @trofeo160 chuck installed

This truck is way past touch up paint. 😂

I wanted an easy way to connect my four tire inflation set up to an external chuck. I was tired of opening my Rigd swing out tire carrier and lowering the tailgate to air up.

So. This solves that.

Other option was behind gas camp. But since sometimes other rigs use my compressor and set up I chose the rear.

This thing works great. Love the things that members in this forum create for all of us.

Yes the port is 1/4 tapered pipe thread. The brushless twin is the highest output ARB compressor with a mere 9.0cfm output at 0psi. There really is no need for a larger port configuration at that low output.

Your system is a little more involved than I what I really need. My main use will be to fill my airbags, and occasionally fill the tires. I am leaning towards the Logiq HD2 system, and if I can verify it will fit (distance between the frame and power running boards is my concern), I will probably go with it. If I do, I will also install the Dirt Church Flip Flow. This will allow easy access to the air chuck for filling the tires. The Logiq system seems to be one of the best for full control of my airbags and auxiliary air needs. I have scoured every site looking for the Air LogiQ HD2 dimensions and apparently they are not posted.

Appreciate everyone's feedback on this.

This is the only picture of my HD2 I have, but it’s tucked WAY up under the truck on the passenger side about midway. I don’t have power steps but maybe this can give you a good reference point if you climb up and look at where your steps land. Obviously you mount the compressor yourself so you can adjust it as needed if there are brackets or something….

I've had tanks on previous trucks and what everyone is saying is right. Trying to run air tools will just lead to frustration. Battery tools have gotten so good today that there's really no reason to use air tools on the truck.

When I get a chance to install air on the Tremor, it's going to be for inflation only.

Not to completely derail this thread. Some of the setups in this thread and others on this forum are incredible. I love the air hookup in the bumper. But for the couple of trips I take a year I’m not sure that’s where it’s best to invest over tires, suspension and such.

Has anyone used/tried these before or others like them?

Or

I only ask as I have about 20 rybobi batteries with about 12 being 4ah or 6ah. So if I took my 6 battery pack charger on my trips and plugged into cab power to charge and used this do they work well enough. No where near as sexy but also 40-$60 solution.

Just starting to plan ahead as next summer hoping to take wife and kids on road trip west from Chicago over about 2 weeks to Mount Rushmore. Going to stop and go through badlands, Custer park and other places. Want to do a decent amount of “trail paths” rather than pure highway” and going to take the tremor. So I know 10 months will come up quick.

Based on the price of those alone they are going to be slooooooowwwww to air up tires. Read the reviews...

If you could step up to one of these, you'd be much, much happier.

Also, know that for most of us, not towing with normal loads, we can get away with 45psi all around on the stock tire size. That might be enough for you. Airing down to 25-30 will help dirt road ride a ton though.

I have an extreme outback compressor mounted under the truck by the spare tire. I also have a 3 gallon air tank, an arb fitting out of the back bumper, airbags with daystar cradles and a rough country wireless airbag controller.

thanks. I’ve looked at things like this or even the ford performance one that comes in plastic box. Not opposed to these as still much more affordable and multi use.

Do you have experience with either of the SB or HF you posted?

Appreciate the input.

While carrying some type of air compressor is a must, I don’t think anyone will argue that full time on board is a necessity, but neither are many of the mods we do. If you are going to just carry a compressor, just make sure it is 100% duty cycle rated or you will be spending a lot of time watching it cool down.

Thanks for that tip. That’s helpful as I research. Completely get the necessity comment. If my wish list of things was complete I’d go this route. But cost vs use in my case is hard for me. But it would rank very high on custom awesome scale. Very impressed with the creativity and ingenuity of members here
