I assume ecu programming on the 23 will take some time? Or is it not that different from the 22?

I think I'm going to have this done later this week? Any regrets or are you happy with the tune, I'm honestly just looking for it to shift better.
I was just discussing this with one of my kids. Thinking the same thing, wondering if a 5 star tune would smooth it out a bit.
I talked with Richie at 5 Star, great customer service and very knowledgeable about tunes. I had Livernois on my truck, tune was good but downshifting was hard, Livernois said they could not do anything for that. Richie hooked me up with 93 performance tune, truck shifts great upshifts and downshifts, it also run’s awesome.

Ok cool. I was just going to do the 87 performance tune. Mainly looking for upgraded shifting. Any additional power would just be a bonus.

My experience was only shifting improvement. Didn't notice anything power wise. But towing it wouldn't hold the gear long enough before upshifting and it drove me crazy, so it was worth it to me. Now I have the 23 HO and that bad girl doesn't shift hardly ever. I LOVE IT... Only wish I had gotten my 22 in the diesel and I'd still have it.
I have AFe Momentum air intake and stainless works exhaust will that help to increase HP numbers from the advertised?

I have SW long tube headers, s&b intake and a custom dual exit catback system flowmaster 40s. I can't speak to 5 star I went livernois but the performance tune is night and day improvement over stock. Truck has alot more instant power to the pedal. Tune back to stock and the decrease in performance gives me anxiety lol. Not sure how I lived without it. Tunes make a big difference if you get the right one

Really considering getting an 87 performance tune. Not sure which tuner to get SCT Livewire, the BDX, or the SCT X4.

It's a waste of money. Can't tell a bit of difference. The only thing I liked was the towing tune because it changed the shifting pattern to hold it in the gear longer. But $700 was a lot of money just for that. In fact I got rid of my 7.3. If there was a way you can do anything with my programmer let me know. I bought it straight from 5 Star. It's just sitting in my junk room.
If you properly unmarried it, they have I think 5 unlocks so he could still use it.
I had a 5 star tune for my 6.2 2019 f250. 87 Tow. I felt a good increase in low end torque and they did 3 versions of shift changes till it suited my needs as part of the deal. I was very happy. So in happy in fact, I just installed a tune on my 21' 7.3 Tremor KR. There is a definite improvement in power (more than the 6.2l) and although I have not towed with it yet, the tow haul mode holds the shifts longer and is much more aggressive on down shifting. I got an 87 tow, 87 Heavy tow and 93 tow. I will report back once I do some real towing.............I am very happy with their tunes. I used an HP RTD+ because it doesnt marry a specific vehicle.
