6.7l diesel w/10speed MPG

Meh, did it all the time on my '13 and '17...no issues.

I just pulled up to the pump when I took that pic.
I Just completed a 10 state tour averaging about 80+ MPH through most of it. some serious headwinds as well coming down NE, KS and OK. And yes i filled up right when i got home. :) Not a fan of Eco mode after i turned it on the last 5 miles.

I drive about 110 miles a day, 5 days a week, for work plus whatever I do after work or on the weekends. It’s a pretty even mix of highway (80-85mph) and city driving. I’m averaging 18.2mph now and am happy with that compared to the 16.2-16.7 I was getting in my 2015 F250 6.7L with the 6 speed.

I am hoping mine breaks in a little and gives me some more MPG right now 2200 on the ticker. Sounds like they do much better after 4-5000 miles.

Its not bad just thought it would be more with the 10 speed.

With just over 4000mi, I'm averaging:
~14mpg in town,
~16mpg on a 300mi road-trip (e.g.,95% hwy), and
~10mpg pulling a 7500Lb trailer (about 2000mi total trailering).

I've been keeping a small phone diary based on actual fill-ups by gallons and actual driven miles. Not relying on the Dash numbers.

About 4500 miles turned so far, mix of interstate. Basically sea level. 3:55 rear
Did 300 + miles yesterday at 16.6 per gallon. eco mode. Half interstate, 60 to 78.
Am I doing something wrong. Some really good mileage numbers put up here by others.
Only 0.1 mpg better with eco mode
How do I get 18 to the gallon? Like to know the secret other than 55 mph

I got about 16.7 in the old 2002 7.3. Thought I was going to be a fuel conservationist with this new truck.

What’s your driving style like while you’re in Eco mode? I’ve wondered if aggressive driving while in Eco mode doesn’t actually lead to worst fuel economy. I don’t have hard test data, but I felt like I saw that when my wife had her STi and Top Gear saw something similar when using a Prius to chase an M3 around a track (the M3 got better fuel economy than the Prius).

I’ve never had the truck in Eco mode and while I’m not aggressive in regards to abrupt lane changes and tailgating I do drive fast and accelerate moderately aggressively.

I hope I can get better then 19mpg in the diesel then my f150 .... I see people getting 25mpg without the tremor and 21-22mpg with tremor and I guy in Canada getting 21mpg on 37s .... So it is interesting to see what you guys get .. btw this is 80% highway and 10% city and 10% stop and go and highway speed limit is 55 mph

Nothing aggressive. Just normal. No hot dog stuff. People are passing me on interstate. Maybe not on 2 lane roads with 60 mph limit which was half the 300 mile trip. Eco or not I drive the same.

What kinda fuel mileage do you think we'll see with the new 6.7l diesel with the new 10 speed tranny? 20mpg on the highway w/o towing?

First 700 mile road trip to Montana, not even broken-in yet and got 19.2 mpg averaging 75 mph. The way back loaded with 3000 lb. camper mileage dropped to 14 mpg. Can only get better as engine breaks in.

"not even broken-in yet and got 19.2 mpg averaging 75 mph"

Well that sucks

Gotta do some research.

16.5 @300 miles. No eco. No change @ 4500

I wonder if elevation makes a difference. Less air density and higher speeds? I rarely drive under 5000 feet. Grasping, but an idea...

I just finished a 700 mile trip in my truck, averaged 20.3 mpg doing 70-85 mph. The best I got out of my '15 was 19.1 mpg, same trip. I am averaging 1 to 2 mpg better than my old truck, so I am happy.

Isn't 3.5 the only gear we can get with it?

New to the Forum and first post. I towed my Daughters Ford Escort on a uhaul trailer from San Diego to Bremerton, WA where she is stationed (23 July 2020), Just 4 days after buying the Tremor with the 6.7. I drove along the I5 @ 55-65mph (occasionally 70+ due to traffic requirements) when parked the Truck had achieved 19.2 mpg. On the Trip back we took a longer route due to forest fires and wanting to do a little sightseeing (had to take a forest service dirt road for almost 40 miles at one time on the CA side near Reno to go around a fire) Drove the 108 (Goes up to 10K elevation) near Yosemite. The truck got 21.3mpg, our speeds were 70 and the occasional 90, but mainly 74mph. Over all, my wife and I were impressed (especially having towed my other daughters Ford Escort from Houston 18 months ago to san Diego with my (at the time) F150 Eco Boost that got pretty around 15mpg if I remember right.

With only about 700 miles on the odometer I’m getting 16.4 mpg with a mix of highway and city driving. I’m usually pretty light on the throttle and rarely get above 75 mph on the interstate.
The truck is still stock in areas that would affect fuel economy.
