2guns' 2022 Iconic Silver Build Thread!

Thanks. They custom-fabbed that bracket, right?
Correct. I don’t think there was much to it tho. They just drilled the holes and they lined up with the holes on the ACC module.

Ah, so the ACC module is bolted directly to the inside of the bumper without any other brackets or metal work? Is ACC working as expected?

Correct. Working fine as far as i can tell. Adaptive cruise works and the system has given some breaking alerts.

Nice thread. All I have to add is 4 days to do the AlCan is sooo wrong! 4 days just at Liaird Hot Springs is about right. Of course you will have had to already bought enough beer. 😁

Installed the Carli hitch, NOCO plug, and Trigger Industries step-back mud flaps this weekend 😰.

I had a hard time finding information about mudflaps and 37”s, but i think this is the best you can do if you want mudflaps on the front.

I’ve got a few 1,000 miles of gravel trips planned in Alaska and Northern Yukon and figure they’d be a good investment.

I was surprised how dinky the plastic trim piece that goes around the wheel well fender is. The mudflaps were a Royal PITA to get centered up and screw them into something that wasn’t cosmetic trim.

Any questions on install just let me know. I’m super happy with now having a full-size spare and a solution for the mudflaps and 37s.

Recovery Gear "Lessons Still Learning"
-Thanks to the many folks for recovery item ideas. Here's what I'm currently packing and a few thoughts:
Big (obvious to some) take-aways:
1. Sometimes I want to sell all this stuff and go back to a single chain; worked fine for the first 35 yrs of life!
2. Most common recovery gear is not for Heavy Duty trucks. When you buy the HD gear it is bigger, heavier, $$$, and more difficult to lug around/store if your truck is multi purpose use. I went thru multiple "recovery bags" like ARB etc. before settling on the Factor55-Large recovery bag. It's on the large side, but is designed for the HD gear and fits everything nicely. I'm happier with 1 bag vs multiples floating around the truck which kept getting left behind.
3. Exercise your equipment! I had a few embarrassing moments pulling others out or getting pulled out at the beginning of this snow year; Steel shackles I was carrying didn't fit my front bumper, synthetic shackles wouldn't fit thru front bumper loops, synthetic winch has been useless and a frozen block of ice all year, etc.
4. Top 2 recovery items!
-MaxTrax!!! Most of the street stuck vehicles just need the MaxTrax under the tires.
-BulletProof 3" receiver hitch w/18T shackle! So much simpler hooking up to this then installing and trying to figure out how to hook up to 2 seperate shackles. It's locked on the hitch and ready to pull at any moment. Bonus: pretty sure you can hang your truck off this thing!

Gear Inside Factor55 Large Recovery Bag
-Factor55 Extreme Duty 30ft tow strap
-Yankum elastic 30' x 7/8" heavy duty pull rope
-Factor55 8 ft tree hugger & Shorty III
-2x steel & 2x synthetic shackles
-HD AEV snatch block
Additional Gear
-ExpeditionAire Magnum portable air compressor
-ARB tire repair kit
-NOCO Boost X GBX75, 2500A (probably should have gone another size up)
-Jumper cables

Nice build. I just added the same bumper and a HD warn 12k winch on my Tremor and the front end immediately dumped 3". Crap, now I'm looking to respring to get the front end back up to where it was prior. I love the bumper and the winch and a place to put some lights but it truly is a beast. I installed it myself in my driveway using a HF engine hoist. Will copy your ACC install and see how it goes. Thanks

It is a beast! That’s incredible you were able to install on your own! So far no issues with the ACC location. Haven’t noticed any differences. Mine has the Carli front springs and didn’t notice much of a drop.

Welcome and great choice! Her is mine after a 4" BDS lift, AMP Research Boards and Toyo Open Country 37's on Fuel Raptor wheels.

Great trip driving/camping the Dalton Highway from Anchorage to Deadhorse/Prudhoe bay this week. Took the 28 week pregnant wife and 3 small girls 🤨.

Truck was a beast as usual and the Carli suspension made the 1000 miles on poor roads/gravel bearable at 70 mph :).

Just washed and i now have reversed the passenger door handle delete Love those rims.

You’ve inspired me to wash the truck. Forgot how nice they can look.

Good day! What front bumper do you have? My wife and I are planning on purchasing a Tremor soon and will very likely replace the front bumper with an aftermarket winch bumper. Thanks!

The bumper is a Warn Ascent. They make different versions of it. FYI, it’s a heavy bumper!

⚠️: Last year I ran an Anderson plug under the front bumper. Had a “weatherproof” cap on it, but if you chose to do so, might want to check the plug every once in a while. I didn’t have a fuse on it either so it’s now removed.
