2027 7.3 water cooled manifolds?

Same engineering mindset that developed a variable speed oil pump to increase fuel mileage by .003 mpg…….
Except that there is no such thing, it's variable displacement and it more closely matches the needs of the engine....and compensates for temperature and a myriad of other things.

Forgive me for the wrong description. There are some 7.3 owners that would challenge the variable displacement oil pump meets the “needs of the engine”.

That isn't really saying anything, and if you understand viscosity (curves), windage, and the fact that variable displacement pumps have been in use for literally decades, it makes perfect sense. An not knowing what it is or does is material to being able to discuss it properly.

A software fat finger on some chassis cab tunes.....well, that is a different matter, not to be conflated with lack of alignment and poor coatings on lifers.

It's easy to say how bad something is without understanding it's intricate part in a very complex set of engineering parameters and operating conditions.

Needless complexity really doesn't exist in these trucks, Ford is too cheap for that.

Hmm ask GM about that lol

Adding complexity to save a minuscule amount of fuel mileage in a superduty is a poor strategic decision. No one is buying a 7.3 for fuel savings. Most buyers want a truck that’s not in the shop.
