2024 Winch Mount for OEM Bumper

What good is paying for that “engineering design and analysis” if the winch can’t handle angled pulls without causing an issue? I’ve had to winch my personal vehicles multiple times and very rarely do I ever do a straight line pull. Almost always at an angle to the nearest tree.
Have you had issues with the design? If so, you should submit them to Ford Customer Services. I haven’t had any issues with mine but I haven’t tested it to the extremes. Cheers 🍻

If you have photos of the bracket, pls post them. Install go smoothly?

This is an early prototype of the bracket we came up with, the current one is reinforced with a spine on the back side and it also grabs the crossmember behind the bracket for strength. Also remember this is on a 2020-2022 truck. I'll have it tested on the 2023+ soon.

I do have good news, the https://gormantechservices.com/winch mount does work on the 23+ trucks. It has been test fit and found to work in both frame rail and fairlead. I will be taking this kit out and sending to powder coat but when it's back in I'll have some fresh photos of fitment on 23+.

Confirmed to work on 24MY? Also, some other way of purchasing besides PayPal?
It will work on 24MY as long as you don't have aux oil cooler between the frame rails. It's on ebay or I can do zelle, cash app, or venmo.

What makes you have the aux oil cooler?

will this fit a Warn M12?

Usually DRW has aux oil cooler. I haven't come across a Tremor with one yet. Warn should fit as long as you can remote mount the relay pack.

I'm curious why the Gorman kit (per their website) requires the adaptive cruise sensor relocated while the Rough Country one does not. What about this one is different?

Trying to decide which way to go. I'd prefer not to relocate the adaptive cruise control sensor. The Gorman kit is also 3x the cost of the Rough Country one.

Appreciate any advice.

@MVI did you end up creating a winch mount for your truck? If no, do you still have plans to?

The Gorman kit is stout for sure. There have been some issues I’ve seen searching of some inherent weakness in the rough country kit.

The adaptive radar sits just to the right of the fairlead. The rough country kit goes behind the radar. Gorman kit does not. I’ve got some ideas on a gen 2 kit that he’s said he open to looking at, but I haven’t gotten them to him yet. Ideally we can have a foot forward kit from Gorman that allows the factory radar. Hopefully that comes in time.

Cost of my kit is mainly in the materials and cutting costs. I'm using cold rolled steel in 3/8 and 1/4 plate. All of the plates that the winch bolts to or mounts to the truck are 3/8" steel, it's reinforced as well to where it will not bend or break. I've seen the design on the Rough Country plates and I have some serious concerns about their kit holding up to use of a 12k lb winch. That's just my opinion, it might be fine and hold up, or maybe my inclination is correct... who knows. But I can tell you I have torture tested my brackets and I know they are strong.

Regarding Adaptive cruise, as far as I know my fairlead bracket is in the way of the stock bracket. That's why the relocation is necessary. I can't speak for the RC kit.

as research I ordered a Rough Country mount a couple of months back with the intentions of either ....

A) Use AS-IS if the kit was decent
B) Modify it to be more robust, possible make an added reinforcement, weld on or bolt on
C) Develop my own Kit

I've unboxed the Rough County Kit and it appear to be well made.
RC Brackets are well built and the welding is acceptable for this use.

Obviously in the Pic below, the 10 year old WARN ALUM fairlead, BEP 720 600A switch, and 500A fuse block are not part of the Rough Country kit.

I just need to make the time to pull the bumper and see what is what. I plan to get to this install within the month.

Thanks... appreciate you jumping in to answer questions.

I'm the buy once cry once type, so don't mind paying extra for better quality and your kit is certainly better quality. I don't quite understand what is involved with relocating the adaptive cruise sensor and that is something I use regularly whereas the winch would be rather infrequent. Having that system be negatively impacted would be a deal breaker for me, so something I've gotta figure out before making a decision.

It doesn't have to be deleted, there are at least 2-3 vendors that make a relocation bracket for the ACC sensor. Once the sensor is moved it should work as intended.

@BroncoHooves looking at relocating the Adaptive Cruise Control sensor and the couple of options out there either mount it at the bottom of the grill or at the top ... Does it make a difference?
