2024 MY Super Duty Order/Schedule/Build Thread

The window sticker will have the definitive answer, but it may not be available yet.
Thanks. I also noticed my dealer did not select the power running boards like I had asked him to. I will see if he can add it after the fact. I know some folks on here had luck having minor changes to their order after they received their VIN as long as it wasn't too close to the build date. Since I'm a little over 5 weeks out hopefully it's not that big of a deal.

.

you are correct, it is not yet available for OP

I would ask the dealer for a copy of the DORA, that way you can see if they fatfingered anything when typing in your build sheet ... the DORA is the confirmation back from Ford of what they ordered and it looks like this:

Get them added back on ASAP, and get the DORA, like @wearenh said, so you have proof. You might want to do this in person at your dealership.

Unfortunately, the dealer I ordered from is not local to me. I've reached out to the salesman I've been dealing with and followed up with an email so hopefully I'll hear from him soon and hopefully it's not a big deal to add it after the fact especially since I don't have a window sticker yet. Thanks for the help everyone.

UPDATE: The sales manager says, "Well great news, the power running boards are standard on Platinum." And I said well I selected the Tremor package too and it says the off road running boards on the sheet and he replies, "Sorry power running boards are not available on Tremors." and my response was that is completely false; it's an option you can select and you missed it - I'd like it changed before it is "locked in" two weeks before the scheduled build date. We are 5 weeks away.

Thoughts? Is my salesman being lazy?

I had the same thing happen, and I was looking for that the whole time. It's one of two deal-breakers for me (no moon-roof was the other) and why I never considered anything but ordering. The stationary ones stick out too far and hit my knee getting in, and my normal mount has been into a raised 3/4 Dodge w/ 35's on it. My woman wanted the deployable running boards because that's a stretch for her. She actually fell out when I parked too far from the curb a few months back. I don't want a squeaky passenger seat on a new truck either.

I was careful watching how the sales guy ordered it, and on the last config, I was the one clicking the boxes on the salesman's computer so there was no mistake. I went in three weeks later and added the carpet delete hoping I wasn't too late for it. I got my build date email showing stationary tremor running boards instead of the power ones, and the deleted carpet. I called Ford national that morning. He said the dealer was the only one that could make the change. I was down there by 10:30 that morning to get it changed, talking to the sales manager, explaining that in no uncertain terms, the problem happened when they inputted the order to Ford on their computer. The sales manager said he'd make it right on delivery at no-charge, and with him being a Marine, I'm going to take him at his word when I pick it up late September.

I was going to have the dealer do the lift/leveling when I pick it up, but none of that's happening unless I get the truck how it was ordered. The only accessory I've gotten has been the locking caps I picked up here (very nice quality I might add), and I'm holding off on everything else until I've had the truck doing 80 on the test drive when I pick it up with the power running boards. It's my own six-figure vehicle policy.

Your guy has a problem. Go on the Ford build site, configure the truck, and when you get to the power running boards, click on the little "I" for more info. It will tell you plainly the power running boards are available on the tremor package with Platinum and King Ranch options. Print that. I have it saved as a pdf for when I pick up the truck because they tried the same noise on me. I say all this not digging chrome or the shiney tramp-stamp that comes across the tail gate on the platinum and KR. My intent was to paint match that when I get the truck.

When it comes down to it, you make the deal or walk away.... and you should ALWAYS be willing to walk away. For me, the truth is time is the only thing I can't get back, and if it doesn't work out and they've wasted my time, it gives me a chance to revisit the cummins with the new ZF trans coming out if I have to reorder a vehicle. I'm still a fan of the cummins.

one of the only reasons I ordered a Platinum instead of building up a Lariat.

NEW UPDATE: obviously I didn’t take his word as gospel since I knows it’s BS so I reached out to the sales manager. Sure enough I get a call back 10 mins later from my salesman saying he’s pulled up the specs for my build and he can add power running boards to the Tremor Platinum. He seemed dumbfounded. So apparently now they are added and the Ford build platform at production “accepted” the change. I am going to follow up again on Monday to double check. I wasn’t going to accept it without them. I’m not spending $100k on a vehicle to settle for an option I wanted but the salesman forgot to select.

Why? Power running boards are available as an option on the Lariat too, but they cost 995.

Glad to hear you got it resolved! Now I'm wondering if I should try and get my DORA like mentioned above. I have the preview order sheet but not sure if that is the preview of what gets sent to Ford or not. I think maybe it is more confusing on the Platinum and King Ranch for the salesmen though since those normally come with it and it gets removed for the Tremor boards instead.

she wanted the massaging seats too. I was over those in 20 seconds on the test drive, but maybe there's a little value in them on 9 hour drives, so it was a big picture thing

Get the DORA. The preview sheet may show the power running boards, but it’s not sent to Ford. Your dealership uses the preview as a cheat sheet to enter everything into the Ford order system. It’s too easy for them to mess up with the higher trim Tremors and power running boards.

"accepted" the change = there will be a new DORA
Follow up = you READ THE (new) DORA

A week later, after the truck was built 7/23, my truck still has not shipped. I'm an hour north of Louisville, KY. It's extremely annoying the wait has already been this long while being so close to our truck.

That is annoying. My truck took 10 days to ship from Kentucky to Calgary Alberta. It shipped the day after it was built.

That's really annoying. They must need to get other orders built to add to the delivery route. When mine was being built I got an update at 7:03 one morning that my anticipated delivery date was 2 weeks away. At 4:30 the same dat I got notice it was in route to the dealership in Ohio with an anticipated delivery of 10:00PM that night. I picked it up the next afternoon. 4 weeks from order to pick up. It amazes me how long they are making some of you guys wait. I must have got lucky and picked a configuration they were queued up to run that week. Good luck. It can't be too much longer.

Was that this year? Happen to have the dates on that?

Yes this year. I ordered 5/31, adjusted my order 6/3, picked it up at the dealer on 6/28.
