2024 MY Super Duty Order/Schedule/Build Thread

Wow 6 months 😖 but like you said making progress! Congratulations

I ordered mine on 08/11/2023 and it was built this week, and just shipped today. They are estimating the end of January to beginning of February to arrive at the dealership. I may end up passing on this truck because I also have a 2024 Raptor R on order. If anyone is interested, let me know. If I decide to pass on it, someone should benefit from this great build.

Can you provide the window sticker so we can see the build? Thanks!

I haven’t yet. I’ll pick it up on the 29th. Too busy this week and the weekend doesn’t work with the Christmas plans. But will do!
Hey Philly, just wanted to get your .02 on this. Still not scheduled and considering changing my interior to Baja. Do you like the look with the Glacier Gray or would you prefer black interior? Thanks!

I think that would be too hard for Ford to enforce, especially since many dealers are complicit in this. Best way would be for Ford to track the custom orders through delivery and blacklist abusers from future orders. There could be an appeal process with Ford if there were extenuating circumstances like the dealer made a mistake on the order entry, although the buyer signs the order in most cases.

I would go as far as applying that rule to dealers as well. Try to game the process and you lose the ability to enter custom orders.
I don’t think there is any stopping or policing, I agree it is to the dealer’s advantage so they are not going to stop it. Ford is too busy to care and can’t risk offending a legit multi truck buyer. It just ticks off us waiting to hear some guy that ordered a few trucks and is letting us know about the two that came in he isn’t going to pick up. “No, just want the one I ordered, thanks for holding my truck up”😂😂😂.

Don’t settle if you don’t have to! check with current dealer on allocation and what priority you could expect. If you don’t like those answers - find a better dealer with more allocations available. This Granger place seems to be a great alternative to at least make your truck happen…now you may have to travel depending on where you decide to live state side, but at least you will have your Tremor! Maybe one of the Granger guys can post how to order through them and where the hell it actually is…

Well consider it my lucky day today....I walked in to my local dealership today and low and behold they had a customer ordered Tremor on the lot that someone had backed out of. The truck was pretty much my spec to a tee and they even honored z-plan pricing....I'm now the proud new owner of a '24 F-250 Tremor Lariat, feels awesome to be back in one of these trucks.

For you Granger orderers in California that have received your trucks, what do you have to do for registration? Also, if needing to get it weighed, which it looks like it must be done, was your weight less than 8k lbs? I was reading about all of the lame California rules and I definitely don’t want to have to stop at scales…wtf. I have an F350 7.3 Lariat Ultimate Tremor. Based on the sticker I should be under 8k but I also read somewhere the sticker might be wrong and the truck actually weighs more than stated. I will try to do everything to keep it under 8k including have my wife drive it onto the scale, remove the spare, and have as little gas in the tank as possible.

I also found out if I don’t do the registration within 10 days I have to pay like a 10% penalty. I’m in Palm Springs until the end of next week and told Granger I would register in Gilroy. So I’ll be way past ten days. If I knew that I would have registered here but all the Granger docs are for up there. What a pita. Still worth the savings but I am getting sick of California. I think I’ll establish residency in South Dakota next time I am there.

Do Montana. Starting my llc soon.

I love it with the Baja interior! I get lots of compliments on it. Baja is the way to go IMO. It kind of shocks everyone because they’ve never seen anything other than black. It’s like no one knows there’s another interior color option. This is my 3rd lariat I’ve owned over the years and all have been the tan/baja color. This is all I got for pictures but I can get another one here after a bit and post it to help you make up your mind.

It's crappy and unethical because it artificially inflates the demand on retail orders which pushes other retail orders out. Many folks including myself are waiting to be scheduled. When people do this, they're filling up the queue with custom orders that could have been used by people that actually intend on following through. Those throw away retail orders basically end up being stocking orders when they arrive at the dealer. There's lots of things that aren't illegal or against the rules, doesn't make it any less shitty.
I am willing to wager there are not many people ordering for the sake of ordering, or going in with the intent of not picking the truck up. I am trying to do the members here a favor and save time on ordering one. When I ordered the Tremor they had told me there were no more allocations for the Raptor R. I found out a few days later that I could order one, so I did. I can afford both trucks, but only want to pay the payment on 1 of them.

I have been buying Fords since the early 1980's, and have owned 19 Fords that I bought new off the showroom floor over the years. So I do not feel too badly about not picking up the 1 truck. Especially when it will be sold to someone who wants a Tremor with no markup within a few days of it arriving at the dealership.

As far as the people who order multiples trucks to increase their odds, who really cares? You will get your truck eventually, just as will they. If there was a problem selling them I guarantee Ford would change the practice. No dealership wants inventory sitting on the lot for extended periods of time.

I have done no reading on it yet. I know when we moved to CA it had to be done in short order (we didn’t as we still had several month on the old tags - yes, we did not follow the rules). That being the same case for new cars from out of state sort of worries me with that timing requirement. In state purchases get more time. I was planning on taking a week to drive back by meandering across the Midwest a bit on the way home but maybe not now.

Anyone have experience asking their dealer to hold your truck for a week or two before taking delivery? My truck wasn’t supposed to be ready for another month and they emailed me yesterday that it had shipped. I need to stall until my x-plan activates 😂. Those line workers must be a bit too happy about their new contract - they’re spitting out trucks at record pace.

On the plus side, I got a $2,000 pco in the mail yesterday, so Ford gets an A+ for that timing.
