2020 F250 Tremor “Transmission Problems" Gen1/Gen2?

I just checked my truck. It does indeed have this exact same noise. It does not in Park or Neutral, but it does make the sound in Reverse or Drive with brake on, as if waiting at a stop light. This guy in the video says Ford is working with him on it. I'll be trying to find out about the Gen 2. And watching this thread for sure.
I don't know about a Gen 2 tranny. I started the other thread, and my torque converter is being replaced. I will update when I get the truck back. Could be as early as today. Mine seemed to pull hard when cold and downshifting was not smooth. Do you have that issue in addition to the noise?

I started the post a few weeks ago regarding the noise when stopped but in gear. Took my truck into the dealer last Wednesday. Called on Friday and they said it was a bad torque converter. Ford sent them a replacement part, and I should have the vehicle possibly today. They want to get it installed and put some miles on it before I get it back. I will update when I get the truck, but it did seem to require more pressure on the brake pedal and when downshifting, from 5 down, it would seem to shift pretty hard and drive up my rpms. Sort of like downshifting when towing. I am hopeful this will fix the problem, as I have sumo springs, pmf sterring stabilzers, replacement bumpers ready to get put on.
Good luck my man. I will include your situation in my prayers. Should be a Rad Beast Afterwards. Must post pics. ??✌️????????

I wonder if the "Gen 2" is just an updated torque converter. My torque converter was leaking at 1500 miles and they replaced the whole trans because the TC was on backorder. The sealing surface wasnt machined properly and had grooves in it which caused the leak. It did lurch and felt weird from day one when going from park, neutral, reverse. The new trans is smoother but still a little clunky at low speeds if you are comparing to a car or light duty truck, probably just the way they are unloaded, mine feels much better with a load attached.

Thanks for the input. I was thinking it would be different than my F150, but it just didn't feel right. I wonder if this is a similar issue, just didn't cause the leak. Sounds like something is scraping. Dealership said everything else in the transmission looked good. No metal shavings and fluid was good. Keeping my fingers crossed. I was hoping they might just replace the entire unit, but guess not. I will definitely keep everyone appraised of the situation.

My 7.3 is going in for service tomorrow. Same issue.
WTH?
My dealership is awesome but FORD needs to get out in front of this one.
My dealership said there still isn't any news from Ford about it. No OASIS reports or TSBs at all.
Ridiculous. Hopefully they get it fixed quickly.

I would expect a TSB to start coming out soon. Dealership said mine is done and good to go. I will pick up in about an hour.

I thought Utube video had that guy say they swapped out the Tranny not the torque converter.

Sweet. Good for you. Ride it like you stole it to make sure shes all good. GOD BLESS YOU and thanks for your service my man. I love that you posted that pic with your sticker.

They were going to swap out the entire transmission for him, but for my truck only had the torque converter replaced. Same issue, just had the replacement part available.

UPDATE. Got the truck back and everything seems good so far. No noise, truck shifts better, brake effort is normal, and at idle in park everything sounds better. I would argue the torque converter is the problem and replacing it should alleviate this issue. Guess a bad batch was received.

Haven’t done any hard work in it, just driving up and down logging roads and such, only about 450 miles on the truck. But it definitely makes “the” noise, when sitting in D, and also in R. Not in park or N.

It's an easy fix. Got mine back and it seems good to go. Let your dealership know about how mine was fixed. These seem to be popping up more and more. I hadnt seen this issue until mine. At least now there is a pattern and at least 1 positive resolution. I noticed mine the day after I took delivery. Less than 50 mile on it. It sucked, but know it is repairable. I put all my improvements on hold until this was fixed.

I will definitely see my dealer about this. I’m away at work right now so in about a week. And yours was torque converter(y)

Yes. They replaced the torque converter and nothing else. I will scan and attach my receipt of work done so you can see. Probably will be tomorrow.

I just stopped by my dealer and first thing he said was flex plate. My VIN doesn't show up anywhere but he'll call Ford on their "hotline". Standing by to see.

Could everyone that has had the transmission issue share the build date of there truck? This would help to figure out if this is an issue with a batch of trucks or if its a bigger issue.
