Ford recalls nearly 300,000 F-Series trucks over defective fuel pumps

"Biodiesel deposits may form on the pump drivetrain roller components, which could lead to failure of the high pressure fuel pump," the NHTSA stated."

"Ford dealers will update the powertrain control module software free of charge, according to the automaker."

Fucking magic how a software update can remove Biodiesel deposits.

I have never run oil from the Chinese restaurant, but if I ever need a new pump, I may just ask to do the S&B tank at the same time.

1. Ford says the fuel pump is bad, but their solution is software?

2. Why only limited model years when we all have the CP4?

Same here brother, I just ordered a DCR a few minutes ago. My order is locked in before DCR’s go into full on back ordered status. S&S may have just hit the jackpot on Ford’s recall.
I am done thinking about the CP4 and IF I will ever have issues. Never thought there would be a recall however, it made my decision pretty easy to pull the trigger.

$2124.00 out the door from S&S. Scheduled “estimated” delivery this Sunday.

The issue was said to have been the biodiesel sitting in the tanks/pumps of COVID production trucks that sat on storage lots before being moved/sold. So that's not really an issue with 2023+ trucks.

Something to note : This tells me lots about biodiesel and letting a truck sit for any extended amount of time.
