Installed Retrax Pro XR with Rhino Rack and 5 mountain bikes

Ha! Once so far. I actually hit it walking backwards around the truck and nearly fell at a Costco gas station which I am sure provided great entertainment.

We have been hauling the camper a couple of times per week so I have been leaving it on.

I'm asking because I have NEVER done anything of the sort....

Looks like a nice setup, I’m still debating which bars/setup I want to do on my Retrax. I’ve been leaning towards the Yakima Overhaul Rack with their Lock N Load Rack. Figured that should give me plenty of versatility to mount various different things.


On a side note, anyone in the Tampa Bay area looking for a Retrax ProXR, I’ve got one I can work you a killer deal on. Out of the box but never installed. I’m just not really wanting to ship it, so testing the waters now for pickup only. Had a few friends I offered it to but passed on it.

I debated a while over picking up one of the Yakima HD set ups. I figured I could start with the Rhino Rack and add the Yakima Overhaul HD as a second option depending on what I am hauling. The versatility is nice.

Yes it was, I still need to call them about that. The packaging was not damaged in any way so it must have happened at the factory pre-packaging.

Just curious as well. Which one did you get? I see the part number says MX 81383. The Pro XR I got is XR T-80383. i’m trying to find out the difference between the two part numbers. Did you get the wood stakes slot cut out?

My actual part number was RetraxPRO XR-T-80383. The MX would be the package without the T Slot Rails.

The T is for the T slots. I ordered the 80383 by mistake, I’m waiting on the T-80383 to arrive.

Okay, I thought the MX was without the T Slots because when I am on the Retrax Website and viewing the MX page once I select to add the Trax system it redirects to the XR webpage.

Yes, I think the canister sticker was mislabeled. More than likely they are the same basic components and they change the package number based on the rails?

I ordered my Retrax Pro XR on 2/24 and I got another shipping update to April 30 - May 5. Their production must be extremely behind. I’m ready to mount my Yakima bike and basket setup and am getting impatient lol.

Worley - funny you just posted this, as I just got the same thing. 2/24 I had delivery date of 3/15-18.
3/12 I had delivery date of 3/29-4/5.
3/28 I had delivery date of 4/30-5/5.

Given my road trips that are very soon impending, I was hoping to have this Retrax installed.

I may start looking at other options...it’s not just impatience, it’s need. Ordering in February, one would expect to have it installed before summertime! Damn..

Does anyone live near Grand Forks, ND and can swing by the retrax facility to put a boot in their ass lol? I’m curious to know if it’s a supply chain issue or they are having record sales. Yakima is having a hard time with keeping up with demand as well.

Funny/Ironic - I emailed the folks at RealTruck re: such a delayed delivery time on the Retrax cover. That was over two days ago now. No response. However, if you are wanting to provide your CC# and place an order, you'll get a response immediately.

Anyway, I asked if it was record sales or delays in the supply chain...no response tho.

They are running the $100 rebate for the month, that may have perked their sales up. But, you don’t run rebates when you are at full capacity.

Still waiting for mine. This is frustrating. It’s like waiting for the tremor all over again. Is greatly needed as well. Rained today and I couldn’t put anything in the back bed for work because it would’ve got wet
