Your milage may vary, but I'll offer some tasting notes on my favs of scotch, bourbon, and rye.

Whisky:

Ardbeg Corryvrecken
Every sip seems to be slightly different through each glass. Wonderfully oily, smoky, peaty, and complex scotch.
Nose: Peat, smoked bacon, iodine, candied ginger, golden raisins, baked apples, cinnamon, (cayenne pepper w/ water)
Taste: Peat, chili peppers, brown sugar, plums, charcoal, sea salt, smoked fish, oak, leather, tobacco, ash, bacon, wafting smoke.

Whiskey(s):

Booker's Small Batch Bourbon
Tops for what Beam puts out, almost like a candybar amid the uncut, unfiltered barrel strength bourbon.
Nose: Vanilla, brown sugar, corn, cocoa
Taste: Chocolate, nougat, toffee, browned butter, spice, pepper, oak.

Bulleit Rye
My go-to sipper. Awesome rye for the price tag.
Nose: Alcohol, rye, spice, brown sugar
Taste: Pepper, spice, malt, pecan, rye, oak, bubble gum

Cheers!

This little gem has been sipping well…

Agreed Booker’s small batch is always good, but of late it seems the neck pour is not great but, a little O2 does wonders for it….Just my .02. It has been a favorite of mine before high proof was a thing! Nice choice!

I tend to drink a lot of Blantons but it is getting increasingly difficult to find. I’d love to know what whiskey or bourbon you enjoy drinking and if you have any recommendations that you’d like to share with our group. As always, thank you for your insight and knowledge.

I'm not sure I have a favorite Whiskey, but the Japanese Hibiki 21 is currently my go-to bottle. For Bourbon, I ran out of the Weller Full Proof, but my all time favorite was a Pappy 20. The current collection is growing..

When I go fancy, Orphan Barrel Barterhouse is my favorite. I’m saving my last bottle for an upcoming special occasion. EH Taylor single barrel is a close second. Every day is Old Forester 1910 or Weller green label. Toki is a great single malt from Japan, and don’t forget Stranahan‘s American single malt.

Wow, way too many to list them all.🤪
Go to everyday drinkers are Woodford & Elijah Craig, Sazerac Rye for making Manhattans.
Most anything from Whistle Pig, High West and Buffalo Trace of course. 🥃🥃

My wife & I both like the small batch & Barrel proofs too.

Has anyone mentioned Basil hayden Toasted.
I tried it. I was underwhelmed by it honestly. It’s proofed down to like 80 or so which is a little watery for me. Mellow and smooth but very one noted in flavor. It was a once and done for me personally.

Damn that is one hell of a home bar 👍🏻👍🏻😃
Thank you! We finished our basement right when COVID was starting and the bar was a key element. COVID gave me an opportunity to spend a couple years breaking it in…

Here’s my current stock. I don’t have a single favorite but certainly have some I lean towards more often than others. Most of these are fantastic.

I am working with a much smaller space, but am looking to do a double tap setup. How is yours set? I am going to be placing my Humidor above on one side and glasses on the other above.

My other option is not at all, so offsetting the fridge is my best play and least intrusive repair down the road.
