Have a few minor things wrong & need fixing, will be scheduling that later this week. Truck does wander on the interstate, air pressure really needs to be lowered. Can’t tell it’s a V8, the 7.3L is quiet and smooth running so far. Shame no way to read the battery voltage with dual batteries, in 60mph cross winds going 75mph she is quite stable, some bud fitting but not bad, tire wandering is worse then wind buffering. The big screen is bright and needs turned down, camera in bed is cool, mirrors will take Zoe time to get accustomed to them. Really nice and quiet in high winds, love the massaging seats

Need to get some kind of mud flaps

Lots of ways with smart shunts. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=montitoring+battery+voltage+shunts&t=ffab&ia=web

Pretty truck!

What needs fixed?

Is there not a night mode for the display that can be kept on permanently?

I should be getting the call or email any day now. Helps to know what to look for.

Nice. Very nice indeed. I had read the comments and complaints about those tires. So I had the Suspension, Tires and Wheels ordered when my Truck arrived. I was able to sell the Tremor ft Suspension with the stock Wheels and Tires for $1500. That helped tremendously to offset the first months expenses. 🍻 ..

Beautiful Rig!

What is "bud fitting"? Thanx

Dammit. Thanks for sending me down a research rabbit hole. 🤣

A shunt-based battery monitor may be what I want for Shadowfax. Just didn’t know about them till your post.
Here's one - double the money at about $130 but it's also 500A (they do have them in 1,000 and 2,000 amp as well I think).

No display as it connects right to an IOS / Android app so you see it right on your phone and it's all Bluetooth via 2.4GHz.

Here's a comparison video as well. He compares 3:

Victron has some of the slickest apps that can be loaded on a phone or computer.

Ironically I explicitly want to avoid any dependence on an app. But they have a good solution for that as well:

Would need to bump up to the 1000 amp shunt, though, so that’s an extra $100. I say that because, if the Ford winch is anything like the Warn Zeon 12-S, at full pull it alone will draw over 450 amps.

Is the battery voltage display something you can modify through Forscan? Seems odd that you can't access it. I would think that information and data is available somewhere in the vehicle system, as alerts/messages would be displayed in a scenario where voltage drops to unsatisfactory levels.

This type of monitoring system seem excessive except for the inclusion of the wench. In addition to the 450 amp draw you have the truck pulling 75 amps(?) to run the truck, and inverter and misc other things. The alternators will put out 397 amps at peak but they are not made to run very long with that type of load.

Yep, exactly. 500 amps would be plenty if it weren’t for the winch. And in all honesty, it’s unlikely I’ll use the winch at full load very often, if ever.

But it sure would suck to need to use the winch at full load, blow up the shunt, and be left with a dead truck.
