Your Ford F-250 truck engine system flagged an issue email

I got an email today that says:

Engine System Alert​

Terry, your vehicle’s engine system indicates an engine fault. Contact your Ford Dealer and let the real pros take care of it for you.

Well super! I made an appointment for a week and a half from now. I put my OBD II reader on and there are no engine related codes. That sure seems strange. There is no check engine light or drivability issues.

Is it a legit email from a Ford email? Or it is a phishing scam?

The email has my Ford Rewards member ID and number of points. The schedule service button had me put in my zip to pull up dealers in the area. Everything looks legit with the email to me. I think the most likely reason for it was Phillbo's suggestion. I'm going to disregard the email and cancel the appointment. Thanks for the help everyone.

I got the same email. No check engine light so I assumed it wasnt legit. The fact we both got one the same day also is a red flag.
