If your 500hp 8k lb truck dusts a sports car I would argue that's not a sports car.

Unless it's a Miata or an S2000, they are slow but still get the sports car nod on handling alone.
I'm not talking about a head to head. I'm talking about the asshats that give a little go juice to close the gap so you can't get in.

I'm running around with nothing in mine at all and even with my weight of 350, I doubt it's over 7K.Makes it very peppy. The tire spin can get annoying.

They are 6480lbs sitting on the lot with minimal fuel in the tank.

2023 with a blown 7.3!

What is?

A lightly-optioned 7.3 XLT Tremor like mine has a GVWR of 11,499 and an "Occupants and cargo should never exceed" of 4,445 lbs, making it's curb weight 7054 lbs with nobody in it, nothing else in it, but with a full tank of fuel (manufacturer calculated weight for 34 gallons capacity).

You could still be well under 7500, though, therefore your point stands. 😆 👍🏁

I'm more used to making vehicles lighter, I was thinking the other day how much weight I've ADDED to this one. The whipple must be 150 lbs total, the blower alone is 100, then the light bar and lights must be 50 lbs, my wheel and tire combo is like 40 lbs heavier per corner for 160, the bed cover weighs like 50, swap bar 20, I bet I've added close to 450 lbs?

I based the 8k weight off of my truck. I have a 7.3 optioned lariat with no sunroof and am right at 7,200 lbs. I took that and added 800 for the diesel just as a round number.

Admitted all options will change this weight but I can't really see any diesel Tremor sitting at 6,480 lbs. That would make it roughly 5,680 lbs for a 7.3 which sounds way closer to an F150 weight than a proper truck.

[Edit: reply to xrocket21 - LGBrandon snuck one in there! lol]

You're probably well in the ball park.

I'm struggling with that, now, too. Do I add a hidden front receiver hitch? I have skid plates! to put on, and they're not light... my winch is on a receiver slider cradle, so that will be stowed in the bed once I get my plywood cut.

I don't want the front ride height to drop at all. Then again, with the preceding items it may not drop more than 1/2" if that. I don't know.

An option for me would be to acquire the very next higher spring rate part # for a gasoline Tremor, and go from there. I'd more than likely only need an adustable track bar, for fine tuning axle to chassis center.

I really don't want to mess with it since it's about perfect right now, steering wise. My curse is being fussy.

I may not be correct, that's a given and something I can live with... :ROFLMAO:

But I've always figured the truck's empty, as-built curb weight is the result of subtracting the "Occupants and cargo should never exceed" figture from the GVWR.

Did you Fab that light bar mount or purchase it? Truck looks tough!
I bought it, it is BMCs older design

I may sell it and try another. It was fine for my light bar, but these LP9s are HEAVY and I get vibration/flicker on dirt roads.

Appreciate it!

A factory tank of diesel only ways 248lbs

Great info but I'm not 100% sure of the relevance.

Just out of curiosity, how much more does a 6.7 weigh over a 7.3? Asking for a friend.
Overall the vehicle is ~800lbs heavier with the diesel engine and aftertreatment

If I recall the stock curb of mine vs. a similarly spec'd diesel (as close as I could find) was 7280lbs vs 8060lbs or somewhere in that neighborhood.

You're right on the 8000lbs or very close to it.The 6480 spec I pulled up was for a diesel,F350,Crew Cab,but it was 2WD instead of 4X4 and the Tremor plates add to that.
The new spec I found was 7465ls,but that wasn't a Tremor.Just FX4.

I'm sorry I thought you said you give it go juice so they can't get in... I'll have to ho back and re-read it.....
