Weight distributing hitch

I also have the ProPride for my F250 and 35ft travel trailer. No issues with it and highly recommend it. Truck is expensive, trailer is expensive, why go cheap on a safe connection between the two. In high winds or when passing an 18 wheeler that is pushing a lot of air, there is nothing worse than feeling your trailer wiggle on you and trying to keep it in your own lane. This hitch gets rid of that. I didn't really want to spend the extra on the ProPride either but asked myself if I would pay that to keep my family safe and not regret it later on...of course I would.

Another Bulletproof 3" shank w/adapter purchaser here. I have not used it yet as I just got the truck in December, but going to use it with my Husky Centerline which worked fine with our 6000# trailer on my 1/2 ton truck previously. Maybe when the trailer upgrade comes along, I'll explore the other hitch options.

Regardless of brand - I never really hear other people going across truck scales. It takes a few trips to get all the weights of the different axles, both on the trailer and truck. Can’t manage what you don’t measure.

But you can tell when you get it dialed in. You can use the measure tape to get back to level trick but the weight ratio when loaded with the trailer to me seems to be more exact. And that changes with a full tank of water on a lot of trailers.

Empty truck with axles on different pads
Then truck and trailer with axles with different scale pads. Might take a few attempts to get it dialed in. The Propride is extremely adjustable with “jack” like screw adjustments.

I do recommend the “yard” handler stinger for service yards or ultra tight campsites. Usually you have to hitch up and disconnect fairly straight but with the orange yard stinger you drop at any angle.

We've built systems for customers with Bulletproof and Gen-Y and have also sold a few of the Weigh-Safe versions. For my current towing needs, I run a standard Weigh-Safe, but I don't have a need for a WD hitch at this point.

For WD needs, my personal favorite is from Gen-Y and it's the BOSS hitch with the Torsion-Flex system. It comes with an option for a 3" receiver and has an optional 7" or 11" drop option for the shank.

That looks like a back breaker. The weigh Safe true tow is like 80lbs put together since the whole thing is around 120lbs. The regular one looks more managbe with being in three pieces with adapter mounted to the WDH head.

I’m using the Weigh-Safe. I like how easy it is to dial it in. Levels and pulls our Airstream like a dream.

Yep, that's the one negative with Gen Y. They're heavy.

I do like that the WeighSafe, although heavy, is very manageable when broken down in it's respective parts. I tried keeping the head and shank/stinger together and it definitely can be done, but doesn't pack as nicely that way...

I’ve been very happy with the WeighSafe TrueTow hitch since it’s has the tongue scale built into it. The only other that has a scale is the GenY Torsion one that you need the WDH adaptor.
I also run weigh safe - 2.5" with adapter to 3" - works great - 1,500 l.b. tongue weight and 10k toybox
