Weigh Safe drop height with Carli 2.5 pintop?

8" drop is the one I got too, but my truck is stock though, so take that into consideration.
I have a 7" drop and I think the added inch going to a 8" will be beneficial if your running 37" tires. I have the Carli Pintop 3.5 on 35's with airbags so I can play with the height. I'll be going to 37's once my wheels come in, I am thinking the hitch may be a little too high with the truck riding level.... So I either need to let it sag or buy a longer drop hitch but I will wait until the new wheels come in and get the trailer loaded before dropping another few hundred bucks on a hitch.

Would you go up to 10 with 2.5” added height or stay with 8?
I have Carli 3.5" E-Venture and full spring pack - with 37 x 12.5 x 18's (Toyo AT) and I have the 8" and it has all the adjustment I will ever need.

Note my truck hitch now sits 1" lower at the bottom of the hitch that it did stock - Stock my truck to bottom of hitch was 20", now with Carli 3.5 lift (which is really 1.5" on a Tremor in the front), the rear to the bottom of this hitch is actually at 19". So the front went up 1.5" and the back went down 1". So that would make me want the 8" and not a 10".

The goal of Carli was to have the truck "level" and by going up 1.5" in the front and down 1" in the back the truck is now basically level. OEM has about 2.5" of rake to take up squat of heavy load or trailer and keep the truck level.

Interesting. I did not realize that with a Carli level the back actually lowers a bit. I get the mostly level not lift part with 3.5 kit, but i wouldn’t think that under any circumstances any part of the truck would actually be lowered. Thanks!

Surprised me as well - to be clear this is with the full spring pack and the E-Venture 3.5" lift. Doesn't mean all their kits are like this, just what mine turned out like this. CJC explained to me the target was to "level" the truck and so that is how it was set up. Looks great unloaded!

To be clear on what Supercup says... Its geometry. You have a flat plane and you raise one side of the plain it undeniably will alter the opposite end. If you stay stock rear leafs the loss of hitch height will be minimzed, with the Carli/Deaver leafs it will drop a little bit more as they are a bit more forgiving on the initial bite on the progressive leafs. I stayed with stock rear leafs as my main purpose is to tow.

I ended up getting 8” for exactly the reason you mentioned. Got the pintop installed today , and it’s true - the back lowered a tad bit, there was no need for a 10”. Thanks for the heads up.

Can a rear block be added to raise the back an inch with progressive leafs, or is such combo not a good option.

Makes sense, pivot is at the rear axle and, with the hitch beyond the pivot, when you flatten the plane across the truck the hitch must drop. Then add the more forgiving leafs and there ya go.
