Weigh Safe drop height with Carli 2.5 pintop?

Which lock(s) would I need to order on this page to go with the hitch? I don't have any towing gear currently. I didn't see a place in shopping cart to make sure the keys all match when ordering.

I oredered the hitch lock, the lock for the slide and a trailer pin lock. I already had a ball lock for when the truck is not attached to the trailer. When you order the locks, they will key them all alike unless you specify in comments to not do that. I orginally tried to order the keyed alike but it throws an error as you have to give the key id (good for replacing keys or ordering more locks). I think I have like 8 keys now for all locks, not sure why they send so many when they do that.
Locks I ordered:
hitch locking pin
dual pin key lock
adjustable trailer pin lock

How well does their receiver lock hold on? I've seen on this forum that other brands have the lock pop off and some have gone to the length of drilling a hole and putting a cotter pin in to prevent the pin from falling out.

so far no problems. my last trip was over some nasty washboard dirt roads with about a million pot holes. It stays in place and the dust caps are tight around the key assemblies

Thank you for helping! I will have to decide how the truck feels when it is delivered to see if I will want to justify the full Carli suspension $$.

A couple things - I have 8" drop and black cerakote finish. First the black cerakote comes off really easy - so I would not pay a premium for it, you just end up with a bunch of black paint chips all over the place.

Second - an 8" drop has "8" of movement up and down - but the bar is actually 10" - the 10" has 10" of movement - but the bar is 12" long.

So unless you have a 6" or more lift the 8" probably is the right option.

Thank you for saving me money on not getting the cerakote (y)

I think their lock will hold up it feels more solid than the cheap ones and you can’t remove the key unless it’s locked fully and properly.

I have to have close to 20 keys it seems. I order the same locks as you and a couple extra keys not knowing how many there would be. The trailer lock was bent so they sent me a new one with more keys. I have their WD and regular aluminum all keyed the same so that’s how I have so many.

It does raise it slightly. Don’t know how much, but if you leave the rear end stock apparently the truck will be perfectly level, which looks slightly nose high. Thus the rear is raised slightly to have it look level.

While I doubt we’re talking more than an inch, we’re talking on the order of an inch or two with the drop length so a call/email to Carli/CJC OffRoad may be in order unless someone with a Carli setup can take a measurement.
When you raise the front the back goes down slightly. Because you’re lifting up the front then the angle of the back is lowered. Try it with something. Unless of course you add something to the leaf pack.

Ah good point! Maybe they were accounting for that.

I was thinking about the Carli full leaf progressive option (not add a pack) which has a 15% payload reduction I guess, and then add air bags.
If it helps - I have the full leafs and the top of my wheel well is at 45 7/8 on the rear passenger side. I have stock wheels and tires. Also, my truck sags more under load. My truck used to sit level with my TT. Now it sits about an inch higher in the front. Recently had 1,200 pounds in the bed and it dropped about 3 to 4 inches.

Any plans for air bags?

Not in the near future. My TT is not that heavy and I don’t anticipate getting a bigger one anytime soon. Also, the truck has handled the bed loads I’ve had just fine with the softer springs. The 1,200 pounds I hauled recently was a 250 mile drive and other than the front poking up, I didn’t feel a handling difference.

How much more comfortable is the truck with the full Carli leafs? I'm coming from a '13 F150 CCSB, so I'm trying to get an idea how much more harsh it will be.

Compared to stock, the rear is noticeably a nicer ride. I live on a dirt road with washboard and I’m glad I did the full leafs. I came from a 17 F150 CCSB. Even with the leafs, it’s not as compliant as my old truck. The best way I can put it is that stock, the Tremor was harsh. Now it is firm.

@BroncoHooves whats the verdict, did you end up getting an 8 or a 10? I read everyone’s feedback leaning towards 8 and I’m still thinking of getting a 10 inch version with my carli 3.5 and 37s. It looked perfect in that one linked photo above.

8" drop is the one I got too, but my truck is stock though, so take that into consideration.
