2022 F250 7.3 Godzilla
Hello

Just getting some insight I purchased a F250 with the 7.3 Godzilla engine in it. Everything is great truck runs great no noises transmissions fine although I did an adaptive reset and it’s shifting up and down smooth but my question is about the fluid in relation to my warranty . My warranty is four months or 4000 miles truck has 92,000 miles on it. I don’t see or suspect that the transmission fluid has ever been changed. I really want to change it myself, but logic tells me that could cause an issue with the warranty my concern is when the warranty runs out. Something could go wrong right after the warranty runs out that I could’ve maybe avoided by changing the fluid, I don’t wanna take it to a dealer as I know they are expensive and I am fairly comfortable with the process all the right fluids the proper filter, the whole change itself but if there’s any indication, I was in there and something happens well you know that would void the warranty then. So my point is I feel like I really want to change the fluid to prevent future problems obviously but I feel I should wait which I don’t like that thought because of warranty any thoughts? Thank you.

You are certainly allowed to change your own fluids. there is no warranty risk unless you do something that causes a failure in that short time.

I certainly agree and it’s the ladder sentence that concerns me. I do work all the time on my vehicles however, you know there’s those times when something happened. This broke or that broke and it was one of those accidents and with the warranty explains that if anything happens cause of what you did, you know then that’s voided that’s my concern.

my warranty was running closer to the expire mileage than yours, about 600 miles.

i took it in for an extended warranty inspection. $200.

i also had an all fluids change with the warranty inspection on the table, as the tech had things apart.

ended up all good except the front steering all needed rebuilt & alligned. which fell under the present warranty coverage.

I took it in to have all that done. reasoning was, so whatever was found that needed attention. the truck was there for whatever warranty work need to occur.

what i did for piece of mind????

good luck with yours!!!!
