I am really on the fence on whether I want two more of these or not. What time do we have until it closes tomorrow?

I think anything that posts anytime tomorrow should be good. They'll probably deactivate the link at some point Saturday morning. If you run into any issues, shoot me a PM

A new shelf to hang. Unfortunately empty TR I, save bottle of TR II, save and drink TR III, just received save and drink TR IV, my retirement bottle to be opened March 2032 and another special bottle that I have decided will be opened the day I am able to meet Mike / @DTX2023Tremor

Cheers! ๐Ÿฅƒ๐Ÿฅƒ๐Ÿฅƒ๐Ÿฅƒ

I've been meaning to drive up the coast from CA to WA at some point... might have to bring some top shelf bottles with me to share when I get to WA. Or, come to Texas - ask @Camarox2 about the pours he had when he stopped by.

When we arrived home from the Labor Day weekend and I opened the UPS package, the wife was watching and she said โ€œYou bought 2 bottles?โ€

I just laughed and said, Yep!

I learned my lesson on TR III.

๐ŸŽ‰ SOLD OUT โ€” Tremor Reserve IV

That's a wrap. Tremor Reserve IV is officially sold out. ๐Ÿฅƒ

Thank you โ€” sincerely โ€” to everyone who took part in this one. Whether you grabbed a bottle, helped shape the label, weighed in on the Rally Edition theme, made the trip out for the barrel pick, or just followed along in the thread, you made this release what it was.

If you've got a bottle landing this week, crack it and let us know what you think. I'd love to see this thread fill up with impressions.

๐Ÿ“Š What We Learned โ€” Straight Talk

I want to be transparent with you all, because these releases only get better if I'm honest about how they go.

Our initial survey showed demand around 185 bottles. We finished at 130. That gap tells me something useful, and I think it comes down to two things: some folks bought fewer bottles than they'd planned because of the higher price point, and some sat it out entirely because rye isn't their thing. (For the record โ€” I'm confident this particular rye would have won a few of you over. It drinks like a bourbon. But I get it.)

Reserve IV was an experiment in going up a tier. A 13 year 5 month single barrel at $149.99 was the oldest and priciest thing we've done, and I wanted to see whether the group would follow. The answer was a qualified yes โ€” enough of you did that we sold the barrel, but not so comfortably that I'd repeat it.

So here's the plan going forward: a $125 ceiling on future releases.

That seems to be the number most of us are genuinely comfortable at, and the good news is it still opens the door to some excellent barrels. We just won't be chasing the really old stuff โ€” and honestly, that's fine.

Worth clearing up a misconception while I'm at it: people tend to assume the Blendery is an MGP shop. The majority of their barrels do come from MGP, but not exclusively. We've seen Green River, Bardstown Bourbon Company, Heaven Hill, Barton, and others come through there. So our next barrel could come from any of the best distilleries in Kentucky, Indiana, or Tennessee. There's a lot of outstanding whiskey available under $125.

As always, we'll let the whiskey do the talking and pick what's best when we're ready. That's never changing โ€” I'm not going to force a mashbill just to check a box.

That said, I have planted a seed with the Blendery team. I've told them we're looking for a wheated bourbon, something double oaked, or frankly anything different from what we've already done that keeps this project evolving. We've now covered a wheat whiskey, a finished bourbon, a custom blend, and a single barrel rye โ€” so there's plenty of room to explore. If they turn up something that fits, great. If something else blows us away on pick day, we'll take that instead.

I'd rather have more of you participating at $125 than fewer of you stretching at $150. This program works because it's a group thing.

Special thanks to @MVI for being in the room on the pick, and to Tim and the team at The Whiskey Blendery for putting up with our group's various schemes. ๐Ÿ˜„

๐Ÿ”ฎ What's Next: Spring 2027

Our next release lands in Spring 2027, commemorating the 2026 Tremor of the Year โ€” the best truck from our twelve Tremor of the Month winners.

Which raises the real question: will @TellurideTremor be dethroned as reigning champ? ๐Ÿ‘‘

He's in the running again, so who knows โ€” we might end up with a second bottle wearing the same truck. Would be a first for us, and honestly a hell of a flex.

Plenty of race for the crown left between now and then. ๐Ÿ˜
