@modified is looking into this. It won't happen quickly as there'd be lead times for customization. Please let us know about the flask. I want one.
This forum can never be accused of not helping you spend money.Ordered 1, email sent. Probably shoulda got 2, but that's a lot of money on Whiskey.
I'm all for higher age statements, but that also raises price point and am concerned about broader group appetite for a higher price point.Shipping payment sent!
Thanks again for all the hard work! Since we are only doing two releases a year, I vote that we continue working our way up to a 20+ year if they allow it. Perhaps we can make one release a high-end offering each year and keep the other similar to the last three releases.
Sounds great. Thanks!I'm all for higher age statements, but that also raises price point and am concerned about broader group appetite for a higher price point.
For reference, the Buff Turkey bottles (15 - 17 year age statements depending on time of bottling) and 18 year Barton bottles were all in the $350 to $450 a bottle range. This is what you'd expect to pay for a Russell's 13 while Russell's 15 was often in the $500 - $600 range.
I think the really high age statement / price point bottles are something we do as a one-off release outside of the normal cadence. There's always a bit of a timing issue we have to deal with as well. The Blendery releases a barrel when they think it has reached its peek, and they're generally sold on a first come first served basis. I can work with the team there to get us an opportunity to get bottles from a barrel or split one with another group. There were only 6 of the 13 year rye barrels to choose from and they were all sold in days.
Once we get past this release, I'll run a survey to see who has interest for those ultra premium releases. That way I can work with that group directly to make quick decisions on a selection when they're available.
