I took my new 36' Forest River Surveyor Legend to the Cat Scales the other day to get some empty weights. Found out my tongue weight is 860 undistributed and 800 distributed. Trailer weight empty is 7000lbs. The GVWR is 9600lbs. The dealership sold me a 1k rated tongue weight distribution hitch. What do you guys think? Will it be good when trailer is loaded with water/food/beer? I don't think I will ever come close to reaching the GVWR. Maybe another 1k with water and gear but that would be pushing it I think. Here are the trailer stickers and Cat Scale weights and a couple pics.
Get out there and use em! The new 350 going to be bringing us to Disney’s Fort Wilderness this year! Also, I recommend this pizza oven for anyone’s camp.

What is the pizza oven?
The whole setup is made by Camp Chef. My family can’t be without pizza

Nice Jayco! I owned a 2015 Jayco 26BHW for six years and never had any problems with it. We were very happy with it but had to upgrade with one with a slide out so we got a 2021 Grand Designs Imagine 2800BH this past December. You might want to cover the ac unit on roof when not in use with a tarp or some type of cover, the humidity and moisture will rust the motor and shaft in a few years. That’s the only thing I replaced on my Jayco. Good luck and Happy Camping!
Fort wilderness comes in as #2 as my kids favorite camp sites. We went there and never even did Disney. #1 is Acadia National “scoodik” in Main. By far our best trip so far. Bryson Utah is on the short list. Just hope I don’t have to pull my monstrosity with the expedition...

Taking it home today. Boy what a learning curve. New to trucks/diesel. New to truck campers/lance 850. Grateful to this forum or I would overwhelmed and exhausted.

I haven't witnessed any of the horror stories that I've heard like n00bs dumping their black tanks right along the roadside in Yellowstone.
We were entertained by some n00bs in Cathedral Gorge SP in NV in October. We went to the dump station. It was a two-holer so we took the open one. There two Millenials at the other in their shiny new tricked out Sprinter van. I was wondering why they weren't parked right at the hole while I pulled out my hose. Then I heard the hot looking babe say
"Look! They have a hose!"
You can't make this shit up! (pun intended) Then I found out
why they weren't next to the hole:
THEY HADN'T FIGURED OUT THAT IT WAS THERE! (despite
the signage!)
Turns out the Sprinter was a rental and apparently whoever rented it to them assumed they were smart enough to do the doodoo thing.
What kills me is that whatever these people do for a living that enables them to spend the kind of money to rent that rig, which had to be spendy, obviously entails zero common sense or critical thinking skills, nawmean?

Air bags thus far. I will have a friend drive who has experience with truck campers before I add more. I don’t know what handeling to expect.
I recently purchased a 2021 Lance 850. I would greatly appreciate your sharing what suspension changes you have made to front and rear including model numbers. Also what tire pressure front and rear. Now that you have driven it for a while any comments?
Thanks for posting the CAT tickets. Its nice to see the effect your WD has on the axle weights. As far as the 1k hitch, I wouldn't sweat it too much. Sure, a 1200+ would have given more margin, but as long as you don't load all your cargo in the front of the trailer it should be fine. Keep it balanced, under gross and 10% tongue and you'll be within the legal limits, and there will be some over engineering in there. Enjoy your rig!
Where did you find a Ford recommendation of 3300 lbs for a slide in? My 2021 diesel lariat has a max load of about 2800. Is yours a diesel.?
His is probably a 350, my gas 350 has a cargo capacity of 3650.
