Tremor package vs full Carli package

And I am going to use X-Plan pricing unless I find a dealer to go lower, so that drops the package price even more.
I wish you luck finding a dealer to honor X-Plan, let alone go lower. Maybe things are different in SC, but here in CO and the rest of the western states, it's difficult to find a dealer that will even honor X-Plan pricing on a Tremor. I called/visited several dealers within 800 miles and the best deal I was quoted was $1K under sticker. I did finally find a dealer that would honor the X-Plan (Shameless Plug: Phil Long Ford Motor City) and my truck came in this past Saturday. Right now Tremors are going for well over sticker, like $78K sticker sold for $90K last week. A customer wanted my Tremor and went to order one and was told that with the micro-chip shortage it was going to be 10-13 months wait...

I placed an order for a 2022 this past Friday and the dealer is honoring X-Plan.

Having said that, I would go with the Tremor package regardless. I have a full Carli Pintop lift on order with hopes of it arriving around the time my truck does. The rear locker, front limited slip, and additional rock mode were enough for me to want it. I have a set of Innov8 G500's on order as well so I'll be selling the stock wheel and tires which will help offset the cost of the Tremor package.

Just to clarify, the rear locker can be optioned entirely on its own, independent of Tremor. Doesn't even require 4x4 or FX4.

I don't believe I will have trouble getting a local dealer to honor the X-Plan. I just bought a 2020 raptor and I purchase fleet trucks for our company.

@RJLougee why would ordering a super duty with a tremor package be any different than ordering a super duty without when using X-Plan? It's not like it is a Ford Performance product with very limited allotments.

Having come from a 19 F350 Lariat with a Carli 2.5 Backcountry to 21 F250 Lariat Tremor, I will say the Tremor package does ride nice. However, its not comparable to the Carli Backcountry kit, and you really notice that after you've gotten used to it and then take it away. The Carli kit is absolutely going on my new truck (removed from my old one). I say if it fits your budget buy the Tremor and the Carli setup of your choice. We are only here once and you can't take it with you.

@MRicepow thanks for your perspective. When you say the 2.5 backcountry kit what all components did you get beyond the kit itself? I'm a little confused about what all you have to get to make it work in addition to the kit.

So I actually kinda pieced together a kit. Carli 2.5/3.5 leveling springs, Carli Backcountry/Fox 2.0 external resi shocks, and the Carli 2* caster shims. Then I picked up a Readylift 2.5 leveling kit from Amazon for about $270. I used the Readylift track bar bracket, bump stop spacers, sway bar mount spacers, and brake line brackets. I've read mixed reviews on track bars and didn't really want to mess with brake lines and bleeding. The kit I put together worked flawlessly for the 30k-40k I had it on the truck, and using those Readylift items saved me quite a bit of money.

Correct, but the other items are Tremor specific. I normally install ARB lockers but rarely ( I can only think of one time) have I ever used the front. Even the front locker in our Jeep never gets used. Having the rear locker and front limited slip factory installed will be the way I go moving forward. You retain factory warranty and don't have to worry about an aftermarket installers work. I also feel the front limited slip is far more useful due to it being automatic so it kicks in and out when needed and you don't get penalized with tough steering.

@Billet those sure are sweet wheels, but I don't know if I can justify that much for a truck I will replace in 3 years or less
The nice thing about Innov8 is that you can send your wheels in to have them re-anodized in another color. As long as you stay with Ford, you can move them to your next truck and have them match your setup. This saves a TON of money in the long run too. Im coming from a Ram which is why I had to purchase a new set for the Tremor.

That makes sense. Especially since I only ever buy Fords. And considering I spent $15,000 on a New Mexico elk hunt last September at least with the wheels I will have a tangible asset.

As others have said, if you order it correctly, the difference between a similarly optioned Lariat Tremor vs Non-Tremor is only $1400. When I sell the Tremor take-off parts, I will probably make a small amount of money from the Tremor package. Plus, I get to keep the LSD, the locking rear Diff, the drive modes, the fender lips and the love them or hate them Tremor stickers. (I swapped mine for all black stickers, so they look fine to me)

I ordered my 2021 Tremor and Carli 2.0 Backcountry suspension only a week apart, and the truck arrived a couple of weeks before the suspension! I went with the 2.5" lift with Add-a-Packs in the rear, Torsion Sway bar and dual steering stabilizers. There is no need for the adjustable Radius Arms unless you are buying wheels with more than 5" of offset. (Or, if you just like the look of them) My truck rides better than stock with the 37s, so it was well worth it for me.

Also, you can get a complete 17x9 wheel and 37x12.5 tire setup for less than the Innov 8s. I looked at them long and hard, but could not justify the extra cost for a "slightly" better look. (looks are subjective and they did not have an all black wheel I liked)

Man thank you so much for the info and your very detailed build post, that is extremely helpful! You have got one really nice truck!
