2020 Ford Super Duty Tremor
I would like to say thanks for all the info, on here, regarding the 10R80 issues. I should have joined years ago. 2020 F250 Super Duty Tremor. Just turned 25k on the odometer, at a stop light, noticed tranny in 4th gear. I placed in park, back to drive, still in 4th gear with significant loss of power. Pulled into parking lot, switched truck off, waiting a couple minutes, turned engine back on, dropped in drive, went to 1st with the illuminated “wrench” on, that eventually went dark. I made it 18 miles home. I called dealership for appointment. Thankfully, I made it the dealership with lunging between every gear change. I was informed yesterday that service ran all diagnostic testing and took it out for a spin. Tranny crapped out on service tech 75 feet from dealership. Dealership called to inform me of tech’s experience and that I need a transmission replacement. Thankfully it is still under warranty. Off to get a rental vehicle until courtesy vehicle becomes available at dealership. Dealership stated they could not give me an estimated time of repair. Just wondering the time frame anyone experienced with total replacement at your dealership? Thanks!

we'll
sorry for your headache to start with.

mine's a 2020 also, jealous of your low mileage!!!!! I'm sitting at 94,000 miles. i did keep warranty also.

my warranty extention was through the Granger dealership.

mine is a motor too

anyway between the diagnosis, documentation of the teardown, approvals, procuring parts & getting the work done. I'm sitting at 6 1/2 weeks now. with the truck still at the dealership being worked on
???????

mine is supposedly a new motor & a rebuilt trans.

only thing saving me from being totally irrate & irrational is the warranty is covering the rent car.

hope your turn-around is much better🤞🤞🤞🤞
good luck!!!!!!!

Had my replaced in November, I believe they had it a week and half. Bin perfect since, as far as 10 spds go.

You might want to talk to your dealer and see if they'll upgrade you to a 10R140 trans. :giggle::giggle::giggle:

Thanks for the heads up. Rental vehicle only covered for 10 days for me. They have 4 courtesy vehicles. However, all are out for an undetermined amount of time. This is day 7 for me. So… I will be eating the cost of rental after 10 days. Dealership just called. They expect tranny to come in from Sharonville, OH in 3 to 4 days. They only have 1 qualified employee (service manager who is certified) and his apprentice that can install. I asked, why considering one family owns numerous dealerships in the area? The response was “Well we are the smaller dealership, in the family and we may have a couple more vehicles ahead of yours.” I basically demanded an eta by eod Wednesday. Ugghhhh! Thanks for sharing your experience.

Thanks for the info. 😀. I’m having tough enough time trying to light a fire under them to get like kind tranny to their location.

Thanks for the encouragement. I’m having difficulties with dealership getting a replacement, in a timely manner.

I had mine replaced about 3 yrs ago. They had it back to me within 3 days, it's worked perfect ever since.
Thank you for your response. I’m into 7 days now and replacement transmission arrival is not expected at dealership for another 3 to 4 days. Then I was told only the service manager was “qualified “ to replace with the assistance of an apprentice. Installation is dependent on what service manager has ahead of me. I stated I would like a firm eta by eod tomorrow or I would be contacting other dealerships under the huge family dealership umbrella. I am attempting to stay hopeful for a great operating replacement.

I was kind of being a smartass (or dumbass) with my comment.
A 2020 F250 Tremor should have a 10R140 as the original transmission.
It is also the transmission you should be getting as a replacement.
A 10R80 is not for your truck.
I would hope the dealership knows what they are doing.

What about the 2022? Are they the same?
