Trailer Hooks don’t fit.....

Same here they fit just fine. Some people just can not figure out how to get it in to the hole.
It all depends on 2.5 or 3” hitch and the size of the hooks. The 2.5 has a smaller opening in front than the bottom. Coming from either the front or the back mine would not fit. The ones on the trailer had too shallow of a throat and the clips could not engage by about 4mm. Thicker hooks like the ones I purchased are too thick for the opening in the hitch. It’s not that people are dumb. The 2.5 really needs a hook that is on the thinner side with a large opening. The 3” just about anything fits.

Exactly. Or to put it another way, two objects cannot occupy the same space. It's that simple. We need flatter hooks with a wide opening which almost nobody makes. Ford engineers apparently didn't test a single hook design to find out what would or would not fit the 2.5" receiver. Sad! That engineer only had one simple job a blew it.

I've seen machined eye bolts installed on a f250 to just hook into instead of trying to clip into the hitch
