Trading up

Hello all. I started looking for a new (used) truck back in May. I soon realized that a used 250 now costs the same as a new 250, so I decided to bite the bullet and buy new. I currently have a 2001 F150 Screw with 59k miles that is almost like new (had it for 20 years), but I am ready to move up into a super duty. I hope to keep the new one just as long. I’m getting closer to retirement and hope to hook up a Airstream behind the new truck in the future. I ordered on 8/24 and recently received a VIN and build date of ”the week of November 15th“. I can’t wait. I have learned a lot from this group, and in turn I have created a big pile of goodies just waiting for my delivery day. I hope I can contribute to the group in the future.

Welcome. Coincidentally, in a recent thread I made a comment regarding a truck like yours! I'm a bit farther north though (Mich) so it was probably just another passionate 150 screw owner like yourself:

How long do you keep (or intend to keep) your trucks?

I tend to keep 'em 10+ years. First truck was a 1989 Bronco II, followed by a 1999 F-150, a 2009 F-150, and now a 2022 F-350. AR_B

Sounds like you ordered a nice truck. I ordered a new Tremor this year so I can pull our 27ft Airstream better. Enjoy your new truck when it gets here. It’s worth the wait.
