Too Much?

I guess I don't understand how a 5th wheel is too big but you wanted to have a RZR on top of the Cab/Bed and a literal road train?
I need the trailer to be 30' or less.

RZR's are 3000 lbs?
The spec sheet says 2,000 pounds dry and payload 900. Is it likely that will be 3,000 pounds when I put it on the carrier.... nope, but, better safe than sorry.

He wants the RZR and Jeep with him. I think with the right toy hauler you could get one or the other inside and possibly tow the jeep?????? I would rather tow a 5th wheel than a tag any day. The 5th wheel toy haulers can get 15' area but that may push the limit, if you add the jeep.
Yes, the Jeep would be our everyday vehicle as well as our SxS for basic exploring (think Moab or Ouray trails). The 4x4 would take us into more remote areas.

Well if you figure passengers are payload will you be riding there while hauling? I’d shoot for lightening the rzr when in the truck, move the gear to the trailer.

I get that, but the truck needs to be able to haul more than just a SxS. I plan everything that I carry at it's max to make up for the things I forget to add. We full-time so we always have everything with us. It's not like we can pack for a weekend trip and only bring what is needed for that trip.

Then you need a lot more truck

Yeah, the full-time aspect definitely puts a different perspective on things (at least for me).
Yep, F550 single wheel conversion is where I’d go.

Other possibility, particularly since you’re full-time: motorhome with garage.

Eliminates the need for triple towing. Could reduce total rig length because you don’t have the truck and pivot point involved. Simplifies the overall setup.

Only downside is you only have one rig to take around town, since you wouldn’t have the pickup truck. But it sounds like that isn’t your intention with your tow rig anyways.

I am getting a truck, camper and Polaris RZR 1000. The RZR will be on a rack in the bed of the truck.

Weights (pounds):
Trailer 11,000
Tonge 1,000
RZR 3,000 (loaded)
Rack 500
Jeep 5,700

That is 4,500 NOT including us and all of our "stuff". In states where I can triple tow, it is likely that I will have a jeep connected to the trailer.... Jeep towing is a minor requirement.

The dealer that I am working with suggested an F450. He said the F350 could do it but the F450 is way better built (heaver everything) and it is more maneuverable.

Thoughts?

Get a fifth wheel toy hauler and bring the RZR or the jeep, not both. They are just too similar to each other when trying to full time.

It does make you plan a little differently. We've been trying to avoid traveling in two vehicles but it looks like that might be the only way. If the truck only needs to pull the camper, maybe a Tremor is a good solution. A Tremor with a cap on the back pulling the TT and the Jeep pulling a small trailer with the SxS. I think I like it. And when you live in a 30' long house, a three-hour-long break might be a good thing....

Yep.

I love this setup too and considered it... until we drove a flatbed F550. There is no way I would want that as my only vehicle for extended periods of time. I don't even want the F450 as our only vehicle for an extended period.... Which is why I want to bring the Jeep.

A 5th wheel is not an option for us. It is WAY too big to do the kind of travel that we want to do.

I have considered another option. F450 pulling the TT and the Jeep pulling a small trailer with the RZR on it.

Even with this setup you'd be bringing two tow vehicles, plus 2 trailers, to have 3 off road vehicles?

If you want a "normal"ish vehicle get a class A and a toad (that's the Jeep). Otherwise you get your tow vehicle and the trailer behind it. And the toy inside the toy hauler if you go that route. If you go toy hauler you'll probably want a 450.

Good luck staying under 30ft, regardless of what you do. My wife and I talked about full timing but have mostly decided on another kid instead. 30 feet for living space ain't much.

Out of curiosity, where are you going where a 30 foot travel trailer is the longest you can go, but you’re able to park a Tremor, 30 foot travel trailer, Jeep, and another trailer for the SxS all at the same time?

The 30 foot length implies tighter quarters, but that parking situation implies gobs of space. Are you going to get two spots everywhere you go?

A guy camping next to me a few weeks ago rolled up pulling his travel trailer. Here was his solution to a similar problem. He said the truck cost about 16k. 👀

You are thinking campground... I am not.

I’m also thinking RV park. Though admittedly I haven’t seen a ton of them, but from what I have seen they’re usually setup for a single rig.

Hence why I asked where you were going, though. ;) No worries if you don’t want to disclose, though.

Definitely sounds more doable than trying to tackle it all with a Tremor.

But, I’m sure you’ve already considered - you’ll overload a Jeep’s capabilities very easily using it to tow the SxS. Don’t have any idea on your Jeep or where you plan to travel, but obviously they aren’t known for their towing abilities.

The Unlimited will tow 3,500 pounds. The Polaris RZR14-A is 490 pounds. Add the RZR and we are still under that....
