The Perfect Hydraulic Jack - Almost

Looks great! Does this fit in the stock location/bracket? Looks like the other thread has red one covered with all required parts.

You can purchase the full assembly from Ford, including the mounting bracket (I purchased mine from EBay). This is the jack that comes with the F450/F550, so everything fits in the same spot behind the seat if you get the bracket. It will nest into the stock bracket, but the rubber strap is too short go go around it. This doesn't bother me because I have a recovery rope tightly packed on top of it, and everything is held very secure when the seat back is latched.

thank you. i think i'm gunna order those.
For your travel trailer sure, not the tow vehicle…

@Bokellaz thanks for writing this up, I got mine of EBay. The strap is too short, yet with some 550 cord jack is now secure in the bracket

I just picked up a red jack off ebay as well. I think i am going to try to source a jack handle since the tools to lower the spare are different.

BL: if you get a complete takeout, do not just install the bag and think you are good to go.

Needing a taller jack and I came across the Safe Jack. Does anyone know if they’re any good or should I just get one of the Ford yellow bottle jacks? It goes up to 37”

The issue most of us have is the amount the jack will lift without having to use it in phases. Yes, this jack will lift 37”, but you have to start at 32” to lift it to 37” since it can only move 5” at a time. The distance a jack can travel in a single phase is called its “throw”. Ideally, you want a jack that can lift your truck or trailer from a flat tire to a height that you can put an inflated spare on in a single phase or throw. For me, that distance is 9-10”. Since this is for your trailer, maybe 5” of throw is all you need?

anyone have any experience with this one...?

I’m having to control an impulse buy of the Ford jack. There are a few complete units on the fleabay.

I couldn’t get any of my credit cards to pay the one link. I would like the F-450 jack. I’m still planning on the Badlands

Can anyone confirm the red and / or yellow will lift a flat up high enough to put an inflated spare on?
Figures. Had a flat. Stock jack sucks. 🙄 At least I had the impact on board.
