Star white or Oxford white (w blackout) ? And why.

In 17' I bought a new F350 Platinum
It was metallic white (platinum white) I made a trip to Houston and back to Tampa. By the time I got home the front bumper had several paint chips, it looked like shit on my brand new truck. It cost $770. to have it repainted. Thats the last painted bumper I want to own.

That's a good move. Star White Metallic is night and day different from Oxford White, which this group likes to call commercial white. Oxford White is more commercial grade. I have an F250 Star White Tremor that gets a ton of positive comments. Not that I was looking for that, but it is a great primary color especially with chrome accents. Outdoes any luxury Escalade on the road color-wise. I am sure it will maintain its value best. The metallic accent is second to none.

How much different is current the star white from the previous platinum metallic white? I think that platinum metallic was my absolute favorite color to look at, and only recently i realized that star white is different from it. I assume platinum metallic was a shade warmer, more pearl to it, but i never looked at both side by side.

The only Tremor on the lot was Oxford White. If I didn’t buy it someone else would and I didn’t want to order one and wait.

I had a White Platinum 2017 F250. I liked the color and received many compliments. I know '17 was the first year of the re-design but some of the body pieces were a noticeably different shade of white but I never had any issues with the durability of the paint. I thought about Star White for the '22 Tremor but I'm not a big fan of the white truck, black wheels look (to each their own as I know some like the strong contrast). Of the colors available, I thought AB looked the best on a Tremor. I really wish they had kept Silver Spruce in the SD paint palette, I think a Tremor Sport Appearance in Silver Spruce would be killer. I had intended to order a 2020 Tremor in Silver Spruce but missed the order cut-off by just a couple days and they discontinued the color for SD trucks in '21.
