Don't know why I said wire it to the mirror. Brain fart. Wire it to where ever it goes is what I mean. It was late when I wrote that.Huh, that is interesting. I’ll see if I can figure it out. Thanks.
At this point, I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I’m probably not gonna get the lights. If it was the visor garage door opener or something similar, I would demand it gets done. I’m not sure I want the dealership mechanics cutting into the roof as some have mentioned. I guess I’m just pissed and want them to make it right somehow. And offering to split the cost of some aftermarket crap is not it. Is it completely unreasonable for me to ask for them to throw in an extended warranty or maintenance plan? Does that ever happen? If you really want the lights I would make the dealer install factory lights and harness and make sure it’s covered by the dealer it’s not a hard job but some shops don’t want to do it if you have a sunroof
I don’t think so. If you can live without the lights and move on, I would still try and squeeze something out of them. How about something from the parts department like floor mats or a light bar? Maybe the dually light bar above the license plate. I just ordered one for $200.At this point, I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I’m probably not gonna get the lights. Fair enough. That’s kinda what I expected to hear. We’ll see what happens. Another dealership in town just happened to get one in that’s almost identical. Different color and it has nav which I didn’t want. Don’t care about the color because I’m wrapping the truck right away anyway. Might use that as leverage as well. I can’t pick the truck up until next week but I’ll be talking to the sales manager today. I’ll let you guys know how it turns out.I don’t think so. This one is all blacked out as well. The lights are kind of a smoke color so I really like how they add to the look. But they’re definitely not for everyone.I don't like the lights on a Tremor, but mine is black out
Some guys may like them on the chrome or Platinums.
Maybe add the grill lights like the Raptors have that way no holes in the roof.
thats typical salesman talk for nothing I can do about it now but will gladly take your hard earned money.
Great truck! No, it was not on the sticker with VIN, but was on the order sheet from dealer. I didnt catch it right away either, which was on me as well.
I had the same conversation with my dealer but on day 5 after I placed the order. The sales guy was all over the place so I talked to the sales manager and explained how there were just a warm breathing body and i can walk into any other Ford dealer and get this truck. I said "Don't be the one to screw up the sale"This one is all blacked out as well. The lights are kind of a smoke color so I really like how they add to the look. Yeah, this sales guy is just the stereotypical car salesman unfortunately. When I first walked in, I told him he didn’t need to do anything but listen and I’d make him a commission. So far the only thing he hasn’t done is listen!
Yea I would have him try to compensate you somehow sounds like he’s trying to get off cheapAt this point, I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I’m probably not gonna get the lights. I feel your pain, I hate to deal with the salesman. Just glad you got your beast, put this behind you and go enjoy her! CongratsWell, I brought her home yesterday. Here's how it shook out...
Spoke to the sales manager early last week. After I explained the situation, he goes, "well, why don't we just get the lights installed for you?" Like it was no big deal. Said they "do it all the time. But let me call my general manager just to make sure." Calls me back 5 minutes later... "yep, no problem." So, the lights get installed and I even had my choice: clear or smoked lenses and amber or clear lights. So that worked out super easy. Damn sales guy made me stress over it for 2 days when he tells me, "yeah man I haven't been seeing many of those on the super dutys coming in. I think Ford might just be having a hard time getting parts so they're not putting them on right now." Yes... he actually said that. And somehow thought I would buy it. Dipshit!
I said, "you know thats's a load of shit. I'll just talk to your manager." Manager handled it. They'll be installed before I pick it up.
Show up yesterday morning to pick up the truck. They had it pulled into the middle of the showroom so after drooling for a few minutes, I told the salesman I was going to take some time to go through it and I spent about 30-45 minutes checking everything out. All great! Only thing I couldn't figure out was how to operate the rear seat heaters that I included in my build. They're not there. Ok, no problem, they can fix this too. Nope! Those can't be installed after the fact evidently. After some thought, I decided I can do without (In all honesty, I threw em on at the end because I just thought it was cheap enough at $300 to be a good selling point down the road for anyone with kids.) I asked them to take off the $300 and to go back to the sales price we had almost settled on of $200 less. A total of $500 off and I sign and drive off. Sales manager balks. Tells me he doesn't even wanna do the deal because "it was a loser for them anyway." He'd rather just order me another truck!! I said, "if I order another truck, it sure as fuck won't be here!" Now people are looking. He says "I need to go talk to my boss for something like that." For $200??? Whatever! He comes back, tells me they'll "go ahead and accommodate that."
I thank him and he walks to me to finance. From that point on, it was smooth and easy and I was out of there about 20 minutes later.
God, I hate buying new vehicles!!![]()
