I'd also fully insure your toys for as much as possible to include all your aftermarket goodies. I think mine insured through USAA is 1200$ a year and that's like the top tier with I think 10-15k in aftermarket coverage. I way overdo things after losing my ass on a totaled 2500HD that had a ton of money into it when I was in my early 20's.

I’ve never insured a toy until I bought a dual sport recently. Only reason I insured it was to get it road legal. I figure close to 20 years owning multiple toys at a time I’m money ahead even if I have to 100% replace a toy out of pocket tomorrow. It’s been tempting though as toys get more and more expensive.
Why the hell would anybody want a side by side when you can get a japanese mini truck for like 5k that has 4wd and diff lock and is road legal and is a MANUAL!

If I wanted to actually spend anywhere from 20-100k on an offroad machine I'd just buy a jeep and mod it.
Been there, done that. I have one of those too.
But I am not just talking about being able to afford it money wise. SXS like any off road vehicle require lots of both time & money. But for some of us it’s totally worth it! Trading dollars for smiles.

Ha, I suppose I get your point about a jeep, they are definitely great rock crawlers but jeeps can't do the things SxS can, I supposed you never riden one, or if you have, you never rode one like they're meant to be riden, I would love to see a jeep take on whoop trails 85 mph without budging or take on sand dunes the way my X3 does! I would pay money just to go see that show! Lmfao!!! I get some people can't justified spending 35k to 50k for something they can't use on the streets but for us SxS owners that isn't a problem, 35k is just the beginning once you're all set and done with aftermarket stuff you're north of 60k.... I won't even get into what a weekend of fun cost me.... just fuel alone, I bring two 55 gallon barrels of fuel for my cars, not for everyone that's for sure...

Dude Im so down to go to Utah and hit the trails up there, we need to plan something out, are you coming to 2026 KOH? , sand hollow looks like plenty of fun I've seen a bunch of videos on YouTube and been wanting to go there for a while now.

picked her up today. as usual rocky mountain atv/mc in utah is an absolute treat. the drive back sucked so bad with a gnarly headwind. trailer blowing everywhere, shit fuel economy. but the trip is done and time to start putting the goodies i've collected on her
