Ride Quality

I was a the dealership yesterday for an oil change and asked if the techs could reset my tpms settings to 60 psi all around and they supposedly did. I'm at 62 in all 4 tires and no warning light. That might be one way to go about it without having to use aftermarket software. I haven't done any of the forscan stuff because I don't want to screw up anything else trying to fix little things here and there.
I called and asked if they would do that. They said no!

My tool arrives today. ?? I don’t mess things up.

Greeting Tremor community. I am planning to order a Tremor this week and I had some questions about ride quality. This will be my daily driver as well as carrying a 34 foot camper trailer. My '17 F-150 is having some trouble with the load. I've driven in 250's in the past and felt the ride to be a bit jarring. Of course there are variables such as tire pressure, etc, but do people find the Tremor suspension make for a slightly smoother ride?

We haul our 34 foot 5th wheel camper effortlessly with our Tremor. You can hardly feel the load. We are running the tires at 60psi front and back but would probably be better at the suggested 60psi front and 80psi back when towing.

We wouldn't think to do the same with our Raptor.

There's definitely a difference offroading the Tremor v the Raptor...LOL

I actually went from an F-150 to a Tremor. Telling a camper that is approximately 35 ft long. I will honestly say, with the trailer attached to the back, it is Light Years beyond my F-150. There is not even a competition between this and my old F-150. That being said, the ride empty and unhooked is a little different. I will not describe it as being a harsh ride, but it is definitely a little different from an F-150.

I keep seeing this as an option to improve the ride. I will admit I know nothing about this topic so I'll be that guy and ask the questions LOL.

1) Does it effect the tire wear in a negative way to lower the air pressure that much?

2) Would that set off the tire pressure sensors?

i used forscan to drop my rear tpms to 60 psi, i run that at all 4 corners unloaded....i use 60 because i carry between 200 and 400lbs in the bed at all times (fuel tank tool box)

it will not affect wear on the tires unless you are loaded. ..these tires carry 4080lbs per tire at 80 psi. when unloaded you have roughly 3k lbs over the rear axle...if anything you just wear the center of the tread out before the rest of the tire unloaded....at 60 psi you are using more of the tire and will wear evenly...this is also why i recommend anyone who lives in a wet climate, or it rains alot you will get better traction unoladed in the 55 psi range.

I had a 2017 F350 Crew Cab Long Bed 6.7 and it was much smoother than my 2020 Tremor F250 7.3 gasser. My wife noticed it right away on her first ride, much to my chagrin

It's not too bad with some air out of the back tires. I also added Sumo springs (bump stops) to the front in preparation to the winch I'll be mounting. Those made the front end nice and soft.

that stinks. I hope my dealer service dept didn't blow smoke. On y invoice it says that they reset the tpms to 60 so i'm hoping that's true. not sure how i would find out anyway.

Mine rides a little rough but I really like it off road.

No - I went straight bicep power, which is free!

The power steering option is free in Canada so I took it. If I let go of the steering wheel it will turn in its own to come back to center. My brother in law didn’t take it and you have to turn his back straight.

That’s interesting. In the states I think it is a $1,200 option.

I thought the ride was really impressive. Of course I only drove one for about 10 minutes so the other guys can probably provide more detail. I drove a diesel Tremor today on some terrible roads near downtown Austin and I was really surprised. It had a softer ride then my RAM 2500 diesel and rougher then my 2017 Raptor. It felt like the sweet spot for a HD truck. Traffic was terrible so I stayed off the interstate and was at lower speeds during the test drive.

I think its the shocks..........My plan is to go with the fox resevoir shocks with compression adjusters and run em soft unless I am towing.....

Where can you buy stock height fox shocks?

Having owned both a 2005 and 15 super duty, I am very happy with the ride quality of my Tremor. I am amazed at how well it hit's bumps compared to both my previous trucks (2005 road like a tank and the 2015 road okay, but was more skittish when striking bumps) I have yet to get this truck to bump steer. Personally I have to laugh at all the people that come from F150s and expect a F250 and F350 to ride the same way. These trucks are meant for hauling, towing and working, not going to the grocery store and shopping mall. There is always a tradeoff in whatever you buy and with a Super Duty it has to do with ride quality vs. capabilities.

I run 60 psi front and 65 psi rear. That works for me.

As others said, not as smooth as my 2018 Raptor but it’s the price you pay for being able to tow. It’s definitely better than my buddys 2019 F250 Lariat which is stock. His truck on a freeway really doesn’t like bumps! It’s very harsh! The Tremor is still bumpy but not as bad. When my 28 ft. Magic boat or my 32 ft. travel trailer is hooked up to it, it’s super smooth!

I haven't owned an HD truck before but have driven several at work. I think the Tremor is the best riding out of any of them except a GMC 3500 that was fitted with a heavy utility bed with the side bins. I had a 2010 Tacoma that I put a mid-travel suspension on. It had King coilovers up front and OME Dakar leaf pack and King shocks in the rear. The Tremor rides better than that. The only thing that really sucks to drive over are rutted or washboard gravel roads.

Also, just a note, it's very likely that the 7.3 and 6.7 ride completely differently.

I aired down my tires, and it rides great (7.3).
