Receiver Recommendations

Thank you RedZilla! We have plenty of fun adventures planned for Big Red and look forward to sharing with the group. We picked BR up about 3 weeks ago and still trying to figure out all the technology amidst packing and getting ready to move back to our home state and enjoy early retirement.
Michigan has a few members and they have gathered a time or two for a meetup. I'm from Indiana and didn't get to join in due to timing and circumstances but will make a better effort next time.

We've added countless very useful mods to Redzilla and all have come in very handy. Don't get carried away for the sake of your marriage! ;) (mostly kidding)😁

We have a 7000# Oliver travel trailer and the big girl hauls it with ease. Also a tandem axle utility that's been loaded heavy with rock, skid loaders and everything else imaginable and the big 'zilla just rolls on regardless.

Looking forward to meet ups in MI. Our new place there isn’t far from Silver Lake Dunes

Anyone found a good rear bed stowage option for the shank/ball assembly when not in the hitch? Ideally would like to store/hang on a rack along the interior bed wall (maybe something that emulates a hitch receiver mounted on the interior wall might be a good option)

I tried searching, but wasn't seeing it. There was a post a while back about someone who mounted a hitch tube vertically in the bed of their truck. Stinger dropped in and hitch pin kept it just above the truck bed floor.

I leave my Weigh Safe on during the summer and put it in the cab under the rear seat wrapped in a towel during the winter.

question what would be recommended drop for 2024 F250 Tremor, am towing a Momentum 31G empty weight is ~9000#
I used a Weigh-Safe with 8" drop for local tows and when the winds weren't blowing. That gave me the ability to adjust as needed based on tongue weight/carrying fresh water or not.

For long tows over the pass and trips over by Coulee Dam, I used a weight distribution hitch with sway control. I needed upper bars instead of lower for clearance at my driveway, so used the ReCurve R6. I replaced the 2" drop shank for a 2.5" one so I didn't have to use a sleeve.

Thanks much for great information. we're planning on loading two bikes, 1200#, 30 gallons of gas 180# all that weight will be aft of the axles, being able to adjust tongue weight is very attractive. Having repurposed to "retire," we're planning on towing throughout Idaho Oregon and Washington and of course there is Sturgis rally in August
