These photos are the first I have seen of my Tremor. It has been stripped as you can see so they’re well into it. I am obviously looking forward to seeing it with the steering wheel on the right side of the truck.

I spoke to VDC in Melbourne yesterday. They are the ones I am getting my Tremor from. It’s been a frustrating relationship with this company. They don’t communicate very well and are very slow to get back to you. The bloke I speak to is never really sure at what stage things are at, so it’s has been pretty vague the whole way. They certainly don’t keep you informed. You have to chase them the whole way.

That said I understand the rebuild has been completed and the vehicle is being predelivered. The final (I hope) hurdle is waiting for the compliance plate to be delivered from the federal government department via courier. Except the courier drivers are on strike and I don’t have high hopes the public service will use their initiative and use another courier. So it’s more bloody waiting.Neither the bullbar or canopy will be ready and these will have to be installed later, along with the winch. It also means I can’t install driving lights or CB radio.

To make matters worse, I was going to a mates place to stay but because there has been a weeks delay he won’t be therecas he will be away. His place was going to be the delivery location in Queensland for the truck. So now I am trying to find a transport company that can deliver from Melbourne to my place.

This is turning into a pretty painful experience and when you consider the amount of money I am spending I expect far better service.

Another call to Melbourne this morning. It turns out the truck isn’t finished yet, but it’s not far from it. These photos were taken this afternoon. It is interesting comparing the dash on mine to The Capt’s dash. I noticed on his that the 4WD selector knob and trailer controller are on the passenger side while mine are on the drivers side. I can’t be certain but I think the brake controller is also on the drivers side on mine, as it is on his. Shows how different companies do the conversions differently. Ergonomically I think it’s better to have the 4WD knob and trailer controller on the drivers side. However, it means there is precious little room to mount the CB microphone the way I would like. Payload is 1515kgs, which should be enough.

It is amazing what a bit of searching on the internet can do. I wanted more than one spare tyre for the Tremor, but finding good second hand wheels for a super duty is a lot harder here than in North America. Getting a Tremor size tyre is even harder again. So it was pleasing to come across brand new Tremor rims with new tyres at only $200 each. I‘ll get 2, which will mean I will have 3 spares. Why would I want 3 spares? Because in the past I have needed 3 spares and only had 2.

I must have missed a story leading up to this. So...this is required to take delivery/register/clear customs in Australia?

$200 each is an excellent price for new Tremor wheels and tires! There are a couple of guys on this forum who sold their take offs for more than $1600 for a set of four.

No, I just don’t want to get caught out somewhere in the outback with a flat tyre and no way of replacing it.

Perhaps more than you think. It probably works out at US$150 each!

Sorry - I mean the actual steering wheel swapping sides.

Congratulations, but a Rt hand drive Tremor just looks wrong....lol. 🤣🤣🤣

I know I'm a Yank.... lol. I am happy for you all. It is a lot to go through and very expensive, but well worth it to have the Truck you desire.

Yes, and even if it wasn’t I’d still want it done. While cars of a certain age are allowed to be LHD, new cars need to be RHD. I’d hate to be behind a truck trying to overtake it sitting on the left trying to see if the road ahead was clear.

Wow - I am very happy you just gave me that example. That certainly would be unnerving.
