24' F350 Lariat (618A Package) payload #4058 with the 12k GVWR package. Curious to know how some of y'all got 4400+ and what options you have.
What gives higher "Occupants and cargo should never exceed" numbers is fewer options on the truck, assuming the trucks being compared all have the same GVWR (as do most Tremor Package Super Duties).
In other words, how the truck was built, what options it was built with, these add weight to the "curb weight" of the truck. My truck when it was new and before I started mounting equipment in it, etc... was a fairly light weight Super Duty at 7,054 lbs. It's nimble! for it's size.
It's only options beyond what a standard F350 XLT Godzilla Tremor gives are: engine block heater, remote start, upfitter switches, dual alternators 410 amps and dual batteries.
If a typical '23 to '26 Tremor, for example, has a GVWR of 11,499 lbs, then the truck itself PLUS the pano moonroof, the leather seating, the B&O sound system, massaging seats, Pro Power Assist batteries/inverter, etc... all contribute to a heavier truck weight from the factory.
The as-built curb weight is subtracted from the GVWR.
In the case of my '25 F350 XLT Tremor, it has fewer options which is why it's "Occupants and cargo should never exceed:" numbers are higher.
Calling it "payload capacity" is one way of describing the "Occupants and cargo should never exceed" number, but remember that 10 years ago Ford was calling the F150s' GVWR a "Payload Package" which is why I personally type out "Occupants and cargo..." as per the Tire and Loading Information placard on our driver door jambs.
