NOTICE FROM FORD

I did lose navigation when I unplugged the modem. Might have lost more, but I don't use the satellite radio so I have no idea if that goes also.

The article says owners provide "Ford explicit consent via an in-vehicle touch screen." I have read that we do this when we consent to periodic updates of the on-board system and that one must consent to get the update. I do not know if this is true.

I do know my 2023 Tremor has asked me to approve updates via the in-vehicle touch screen.
I've heard the same in the other Ford forum. I have disabled automatic updates from day one of getting the truck. There is really very little I need from the Sync system to enjoy my truck.

Ford does collect data from its vehicles and services, but the extent to which this data is aggregated and anonymous (to protect you and I) can vary.

Here are some key points:
1. Data Collection: Ford collects various types of data, including location, audio, driving characteristics, and personal information such as name, email address, and phone number, especially through apps like Ford Pass. This data can be used for improving vehicle performance, safety, and marketing purposes.
2. Aggregated and Anonymous Data: Some data is collected on an aggregate or anonymous basis, which is used for statistical analysis, improving services, and developing new products. However, not all data is anonymized, as some personal information is collected and shared for business purposes.
3. Privacy Policies: Ford’s privacy policies outline how they collect, use, and disclose personal information. While they do anonymize some data, they also collect and share identifiable information with third parties under certain conditions

Read the Ford Privacy Policy if you’re generally concerned

Net:Net. They are sharing your data.

I haven’t received one but why waste half my day or more for something of no benefit? Maybe throw in a free oil change
