I have 7' openings on my garage and my truck wont fit. 7' is tall enough opening. However, when open, that arm connecting the opener to the door sits below 7' and makes it impossible to get my truck completely in without it hitting the cab.You need a 7’ door minimum. 25x20’space just for a tremor. Go from there to make your man cave…
Cheers![]()
I had the guy that installed my garage door and opener make sure the arm is 7’ min. My tremor fits with 1” clearance. The height of the garage opening is exactly 7’-0”.I have 7' openings on my garage and my truck wont fit. 7' is tall enough opening. Additionally, my truck sits at roughly 6'10" as i've measured with a laser transit, IIRC (i'm bone stock suspension and tires, duracraps). I'm 99% sure leveled and 37's will push me north of 7'.
For that reason, do not install anything less than 8'. IMO, i wouldnt install anything less than 9-10'.
I have major regerts about choosing an 8x12 on my shop b/c I'm looking to level, 37s and a Lone Peak Camper. I'm not sure if i'll fit with all that even if i air down.
Looks great @Tucson Tremor !If you’re doing shorter garage doors here is the side by side with the high lift tracks I did.

You’re exactly right. After the custom tracks and labor to undo the old and install the new, I’m almost to the same cost of the RV sized door and wish I would have done that from the beginning.Looks great @Tucson Tremor !
In hindsight, since you put in the higher tracks anyway, any reason not to just put a taller door in as well?
I am in the process of having a new house built it was minimal cost to enlarge the garage and to put wider/taller garage doors on it.
