I’m surprised this tire inflator hasn’t yet been mentioned on the forum as far as i can recall. The search also returned nothing. Interestingly, the off-road community raves about this unit. Youtube has a ton of videos of M18 Inflator tested with all sorts of overlanding and off-road vehicles.

The unit is solid for a battery powered portable device. For someone like me who never had any interest in installing ARB twin on board air, this fits the bill just right. For that rare occasion where i might need to inflate, this unit offers plenty of speed. And its not locked into my tremor, i can take it on a road trip with any vehicle.

Today i tested it for the first time, put 20 psi in each of the 5 tires in about 15 minutes total. My 5AH dewalt battery was still 3 full bars when i was done.

These two reviews pretty much sum up the device. It’s a keeper for me.

I have seen this and I have been pondering on pulling the trigger as well; let's be honest, who doesn't have cordless tools anyways?

I have so many of these batteries (milwakee), everywhere, and just about every piece of tool in and around the house is Milwakee (not to mention in our trucks) My latest acquisiton was a powered screwdriver (getting lazier by the minute, who doesn't like convience?).

I have found that Milwakee batteries are very powerful and best of all, they never loose charge!

Onboard air is becoming more-so a thing of the past and simply hard to beat today's new tech of gear. What used to be a sweet setup, the onboard dual-compressor set up is simply not jawdropping in today's standard's especially when trying to pump up 37" of deflated rubber.

You can pick up a cheap portable single-cylinder, power it off of your 12v battery and pump up your tires in the same fashion (and possibly less time).

About the only reason I can see onboard air with a tank is to run airhorns.

For powertools, my Milwakee M18 High Torque 1/2" impact can break a nut faster than an air gun can even begin to loosen it.

Portable and cordless tools is the new world of toys to me.

I have a few dozen Dewalt tools and about a dozen of their batteries. I was a bit disappointed that this Milwakee unit hands down destroyed the Dewalt one. But after researching battery adapters, I understood that it’s a non issue and simply got an adapter to use with my dewalt batteries. I now own my first Milwakee tool. But if you are already on Milwakee train, its a win win for you! :1)

Thanks for posting this. I honestly had not considered a cordless air pump. I was contemplating Thor's Lightning that clamps to batteries but now this has me thinking otherwise.
It's not like I air down but I do need air from time to time.

I recall the Milwaukee inflator coming up in the Black Friday deals thread some months ago and being highly praised. I investigated then, but hesitated to purchase because I'm so heavily invested in the DeWaltiverse in terms of both tools and batteries and was too limited in my thinking to contemplate the possibility of a battery adapter as a potential option.

Those videos are very convincing and I think I just got myself some research homework for the weekend.

I have the M18 inflator and did 5 tires on car trailers in the time my brother in-law did 3 with his Viair inflator with the alligator clips. We were both hauling hay on each of our trailers and we went from 30 to 65 on all 8 tires. It's not super quick, but you can program the pressure into the Milwaukee and it will stop automatically. I used a M18 5.0 AH battery and had 2 bars of power left after it cooled down. Very impressive.

Now that thing is a monster! In no means will this takes its place of Thor's but it certainly is a cheaper and handy alternative.

I have the Thor's Lightning and I can air up all 4 of my 35s from 15lbs to 57lbs in 12 minutes (quicker than my Dewalt donut compressor). Best thing of it all is the 4-tire valve system. I'm so glad I never pulled the trigger on on-board air after having it on my bucket list for so long.

I’ve had the M18 version for about a year, and have had the M12 version for about 3 years as well. The M12 lives in my Can Am, and the M18 lives in my Tremor. I’ve aired up a ton of tires with both, and I’ve been plenty happy with it. I typically have at least 3-4 other Milwaukee tools in my truck at any given time, so batteries are never an issue.

I have a garage full of yellow tools... but I may be on my way to my first Milwaukee tool too because of this adapter you mention. Portable tire inflator is my next purchase and this just went to the top of the list.

Could this be used to add air to rear airbags too? Seems like it could.

It could if you have an air stem like the ones that I’ve seen in the past

Well, that settles what my next 2 purchases are then!

I'm eyeing the Daystar/Firestone kit that CJC sells which I believe comes with a Schrader valve that tucks up under the rear bumper if you order the "manual inflate" version.

In one of the review videos ive seen someone used the tool for airbags, i think it took them 5 seconds maybe.

@Winterized

Take a look at this overview. Might remove any last worry about using adapters vs native batteries.

For now i just have this standard adapter: https://a.co/d/bu97GDn

In a few days ill come back to report on this lower profile one which should allow me to use 6/8AH batteries easier. I can still use them with a standard adapter above, but the fit is too tight, so i got the lower profile one, which i think is made here in the US/NJ by the guy using a 3D printer. I opted for TPU heavier duty version.

I have one and its pretty badass

I like my onboard air setup as I use my truck for plasma cutting sometimes. I got rid of the shop compressor and use cordless tools for everything else.

Thanks for this! Inflator and adapter ordered.

That is awesome thanks for info. I am in!

I have both the M12 and the M18. The M12 works good for car tires and will inflate 35's but takes a bit. The M18 with a 12AH battery will inflate 35's with no issue. Great tool IMO

I have the Milwaukee 18v in pump and I love it. I keep it and a Milwaukee 1/2” 18v impact in my tuck. I used to have tons of the “yellow” tools and am switching over to the red. My 1/2 impact that was yellow would not remove the lugs off of my truck but the Milwaukee does, I can use it to rotate my tires on one battery and still have juice left.
