Lug nut socket size and torque wrench suggestions…

I've been pondering purchasing a Milwaukee impact and sockets like @RedZilla purchased and finally decided to pull the trigger. Where he bought his impact was out of stock so the search was on for another source. I found it at Summit Racing for the same price with the addition of a free 2.5ahr High Output battery and free shipping. Pretty good deal. I wanted to stay compact so I stuck with the 12v instead of the 18v posted above. This is my first of hopefully many Milwaukee tools so I will be looking to expand my 12v inventory.

If anyone is looking for quality digital torque wrench. This one isn’t a Snap-on, but it’s good enough for my personal vehicle/use at 1/6 the price of similar Snap-on.

It always was above $200, so to date i was using the same non-digital version i purchased at sale at Lowes for $60 a few years back. But now it dropped to 112$ on Amazon ( still $229 at Lowes and Ace), which is a great deal so i finally grabbed it.

Thanks for the heads up @Alpoba ! I've been looking for a new/extra torque wrench. I just pulled the trigger on this one.

I wonder if you could get it from NAPA auto parts? https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/CTMCMMT99436

I know it says to call store for availability but their pricing on Craftsman is way better than Lowes or Ace.

Maybe your NAPA is different pricing, here is mine.
Mine shows the same. I'll have to call my local store tomorrow and see if they have any in stock.

How many of these TQ wrenches come with a calibration paper?

I just checked about a half dozen NAPA stores in central Indiana and the price for the Craftsman ranged from $235 - $81 depending on the location. Several were at the low end of the scale.

I got lucky buying the Dewalt on sale under $100. I should have bought them out.

Here's a decent price at Home Depot :

Awesome. We can exchange opinions on it:) mine arrives tomorrow and i plan to give centramatics another try so will be using it pretty soon.
Please let me know how the Centramatics turn out and if they’re worth it.

I called my local napa which had them at $86, the guy said they no longer carry the item and it can’t be re-ordered. My guess is craftsmen is discontinuing this particular wrench thus the discount but i could be wrong.

Sounds logical... So basically a closeout price for the stores that still have some in stock.

So far happy. Need to research what the angle settings are for, i’m dumb concept doesnt come naturally to me, need an example to better understand.

Haven’t read the entire thread, but I use a Milwaukee 1/2” impact wrench to get em off and I use a Techron 1/2” torque wrench. Techron actually makes really good tools for a fair price, IMHO.

Angle is usually for torque to yield bolts. Where you hit a required torque value, then the manufacturer spec calls for a certain amount of degrees rotation after that. Cylinder head bolts are like this generally.
