Lubricant shortage

The actual "shortage" isn't/wasn't expected to hit till autumn from what I read.

The internet is doom scrolling with their hair on fire and I'm just like....

Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it. Most of the "shortages" in the last couple decades are the result of manic panic buying- toilet paper, eggs, masks, ammo, etc. Not really shortage of product. I expect the same with this.
Yup, but the sheeple WILL panic, and then the crisis becomes real for the folks who just want to maintain their normal bum-wad buying pace…

Just saw that article.

Oil hasn't been right since the vid. Just the rich getting richer... Mfers said "well, they paid whatever we wanted during COVID, might as well keep the prices right where they were or maybe a couple % cheaper so they feel a little relief...." While I could only raise my prices by like 10-15%, the extremely wealthy raised theirs by 50-150% and kept it there 🤦🤬

Bro I agonize on raising prices because I know people are being squeezed. Having a soul and running a business are super tough.

We could take back control if we banded together. We all need to buy Gas/Diesel but we don't need to get it from say, BP. If everyone agreed to stop buying gas from BP no matter the cost they would fold, then we could ask the others, "Who's next"? Same with fast food or any other product. It just takes 1 or 2 going under to make the others rethink their ways.

Is what it is. We can only absorb so much before our margins drop below a sustainable level. At the end of the day, it's just business.

Now if we were arbitrarily raising prices...

Exactly. Unfortunately, so many people can't be bothered to do a damn thing about anything that nothing will change until things get really, really bad.

Out of curiosity, I pulled up my receipt for the oil I purchased in May for the future 10k mile service. Since May, the price of the exact same oil has gone up a little over 13%. The oil I purchased for the tractor is up 15% (although you can find it cheaper at a different retailer).

Y'all pick the gas station and I'll stop buying from them, watch me. I pass by every damn flavor of gas every day 😉

I'm in! I don't use BP anyway 😆
Just don't say Southern States!

I don't check my receipts it's one of those things where I have to have it but I try to buy it from local not the dealership but O'Reilly's or Parks auto. I buy motorcraft for the ford and I usually buy penzoil for the GMCs. Lately though, oreillys has been phasing out the Pennzoil so now I have to get Valvoline.

I shouldn’t have looked. Lol. Now I’m just mad about it. Time to hit the Tremor Reserve.

Yeah, I try to concentrate on just being livid with non-drivers.... No Facebook, or any other real social media. Except "nextdoor", I jump in there every once in a while. Mainly fireworks holidays and idiot who "have" to keep reminding people that we have alligators and snakes and to stay away from water. Let the Ohioans figure it out on their own, geez 😜

Well shit guess I should’ve grabbed some more triax during their Labor Day sale

At first I thought dang I’ve contributed to the lube shortage with 37lbs being delivered 😂

Turns out it’s my AGM battery for my Polaris UTV but at first I was like who the hell ordered that much lube
