Is the pedal commander actually dangerous?

It's in the cart. Just trying to decide if I actually need the idash.
The iDash is quite nice. You can monitor or diagnose pretty much anything under the hood.

You can also monitor the Pedal Monster in real time if you wish. Changing PM settings is super easy too, and you don’t have to get your phone out and connect to the App either.

Using the App or iDash to change settings of the PM requires that there be zero output on the throttle pedal sensor. In other words, if you want to change the settings while driving/moving, you must let off the throttle pedal for it to save those changes.

Banks - Super easy to install.

I added an OBD splitter to run the Pedal Monster and AMP Research Power Steps.

Re: power - the Pedal Commander draws 5 volts (and thus more current/amperage) from pedal position sensor signal (5V), and could cause a short or failure. Yes, you can replace or remove it - the questions is when it does let go, will you be towing a trailer on a grade, and with a dead pedal, you can't even accelerate out of the way to get into the shoulder.

Is it a corner case of a failure mode? Yes. Of course. But that puts into perspective the other scenarios.

And the Pedal Monster pulls 12 V from the OBD, so it's got more voltage to work with, and subsequently lower current draw.
