I love this truck. But I am seeing an issue with the ventilation air control where it will occasionally start blowing substantially harder only on road trips. The A/C is on, everything normal and suddenly the fan starts blowing a lot harder. I usually just turn it off briefly and it re-sets.

Anyone else seeing this happen?

I am not on auto. Also it seems to only do this on road trips for some reason. At least the A/C is working! Happy about that. I can live with it I guess.

^^ What @Godzilla/Tremornator said. Test by sitting in the driveway with A/C on with fan speed in the mid to high range and toggle recirculating air button. The fan doesn’t change speed, the air is just taking another path and the noise is different.

The recirculation on/off is not changing at the time of occurrence. The fan just revs up somewhat. Nothing else changes. It is not a huge deal, just curious why it should be happening.

next guess????

something in the fan motor warming up, causing a gound-out, pulling more current through the fan motor, creating the increase in fan speed.

i don't know if there are some electronics which could cause the issue or if it's the motor it's self.

it'll finally quit if it's a problem
😅🤣😂🤣😂

hope there's no fire getting to that point!!!!!!

one last question, i guess.
does the fan speed switch have any affect?? when the fan increases speed is it stuck on max? if so, I'd put a new speed selector in it?????

good luck!!!!

I certainly hope there is no fire. LOL Fan speed does not go to max when it happens. The speed switch does not appear to alter the fan speed. I just turn the A/C off for a short time then turn it back on again. All good. Just a minor irritation. Nothing else wrong with the truck at all. At least so far. I have 6500 miles on it now. The only other thing I will likely do something about later is getting a module to take the lag out of the throttle response. This is not a huge issue either. Overall very happy with this truck.
