deer rifle is too long so i keep it in a pelican hard case

ar
is wedged in the driver side rear seat up
snug as a bug in a rug

access by just pulling the seat release
easy peasy

i just use that old lockable deezee under seat storage bin.

How am I just finding out about this? I gave up on using the under seat storage now that I added a 2nd car seat. How do you like this? Do you just uninstall the plastic ford storage and drop this in?

Too expensive for me but this is exactly what you described and what I was looking for as well.

I may try the Cabelas version posted above but I like the top open feature of the Lakewood.

Everything gets tossed in the front seat or rear floorboard with no case. Lol
Watch letting it ride against the console in the passenger seat without a case....scope will nock the fancy paint off the console on passengers side on ruff roads...ask me how I know.

Had to start using under the back seat...not as convenient so went with something with a little more range due to longer reaction time to get on the scope...just make sure you get the muzzle out the window foe the shot.. :ROFLMAO: ...the glass you save may be your own.

I have been eying the new Decked Minuteman 80. One of my Decked Drawers in dedicated to truck stuff and this could go in the other side. Plus the cap makes it even more secure.

It’s knocked the paint off passengers and drivers side off my 17’ and 22’ Super Duties lol I haven’t given it much thought on either truck.

The only time I’ve shot a 50 was about 12 years ago. At the time I had been dabbling in LR for about 2-3 years, and had a few custom rifles built by then. A buddy brought his Barret M107A1 to an annual “hunt” that I put on, and set up the entry target at 740. He gave me his dope, and I guessed on wind. Center punched the target with a 750 Amax, and never saw the target again…… that weekend. It swung off the chains into the snow. Buddy that owns the place text me last year, and told me he finally found the target lol

yep, just unbolt the oem storage and this bolts in to the back of the seat supports. i had to get it for the same exact reason, two car seats = no more under seat access. had it for a few years, it's ok. wish they did ball bearing sliders, when it gets loaded up it's hard to slide. but i just greased it up and got used to it. not a ton of options out there for this sort of situation. it's lockable which is nice too.

Thank you. I will definitely look into this.

We’ve tossed $6-7K rifles in the bed of our UTVs and then proceeded to run down hogs with them bouncing around 😂 I don’t care if they’re pretty as long as they work. If they survive that they’ll be just fine bouncing around on cushioned seats or soft floors.
Fortunately, they make cases and racks. I can’t afford to ruin my rifles and optics, but even if I could, I respect them as a tool, so I treat them with care. I don’t care how they look, but I do care how they work and I want them to last.

If I’m just transporting them and don’t require quick access my rifles are in hard cases. If I need quick access and they’re not carried or slung, I have them in racks or scabbards.

Some of you will recognize this:

The .50 Barrett is an awesome rifle. That heavy bullet retains an amazing amount of energy at 1000 yards.

If you haven’t seen the video of the guy who has a ricochet knock the muffs off his head it’s worth a watch. He was a Darwin Award competitor, but God saved his life.
