How many of you leave your ball/hitch on the truck full-time, even when not towing? I know it's actually illegal to do so in some states which I find odd so long as it's not blocking your license plate. For those that do leave it on full time, do you find it leads to early deterioration? I think with the stowable style hitch it makes sense to leave it there full-time in order to avoid the hassle of storing it and/or not having it readily available when you need it.

I leave my B&W on about 7 or 8 months. I'll take it off deep winter to avoid corrosion since I'm not using it. About every 3 or 4 weeks I'll remove, clean, and grease the pins.

I keep mine on full time on every truck I have had. Just keep a cheap 3 way with hook. They have saved my bumper more than once. Since I know its there not my shins getting smoked.

My weigh safe is way too expensive to leave on. Also is a 10 inch drop so I wouldn’t want that to get caught on something if I do something and forget it’s on.

Hard enough to fit in parking spots so mine is off when I’m not towing. Only exception would be the WDH when on a trip and we unhitch after making camp.

I leave it on. In my older truck with the drop hitch in place a lady rear-ended me at low speed. Saved me from needing a new rear bumper.

Only when towing. I have wacked my shin enough on them over the years to leave it in. Plus don't like the rattle noise it makes.

I leave mine in all the time

Gen-Y 9" drop always in. I do put the ball to the inside thought.
Same hitch. I leave mine in all the time. EVERY time I take it out I end up having to put it back within 24 hours.

Plus, given the height of these trucks I feel like the hitch is a safety thing for smaller cars behind me. If they rear end me, the hitch will catch their engine instead of my bumper catching their heads.

I leave the WeighSafe draw bar on all the time - but mine is in the rise position partially blocking the license plate. My TT is tall, I guess.

I don’t leave the head unit on unless I’m towing. That’s already been a finicky PITA, so I don’t want to expose it to the elements.

Only comes off in the winter.
