Heat shield liberated

I had a heat shield (attached with adhesive) fall off my 2026 Tremor (600 miles). I have been trying to get it replaced and have stumped the panel at the dealership. I finally found a few matching pics on this site and was able to investigate further... here is what i found. There is no part number because Ford considers the part, and others like it, to be integral to the truck bed. They do not make the part available and the truly formal answer is to REPLACE THE ENTIRE. I'm waiting for the dealer to reach back out to me on a logical solution... but they still can't get as far as I have on location much less solution. Anyone have this joy in your life? If so, what did you do.

- Is your Tremor a 7.3 or 6.7?
- Do you know where on the truck this fell off from?

It looks like the heat shield on the bottom of the cab, above the exhaust but I can't tell for sure.

I have not had the pleasure on this truck, but have on other vehicles. I just bought aftermarket and trimmed to fit. Obviously helpful to have the old one as a template.

Thanks for the welcome. I have a 7.3L . It was a mystery for a while on location because it was on the driveway when i came home. I have since determined it is from the area where the exhaust turns down just before the spare tire. The dealer (who share remain nameless) has been zero help. They are going to come out, now that i identified the part, and cut a piece from a thin square material. I'm letting them do it just so i can move on, but the original piece was quilted.

I called and canceled the dealer repair. There is no way i was gong to let them put that dollar store material on as a replacement

It does suck, but things happen. It’s not like it was a windshield wiper that came off. And, many of us are taking non-defective parts off of our truck to replace with aftermarket parts

Remember the old saying, "If you want something done right, ya gotta do it yourself"?

This is one of those things. Sucks that the truck's only two months old, but you're looking at it the way I do: What course of action produces the least amount of aggravation and over the shortest period of time?
