GMRS Antenna and Radio Placement?

Here’s a great video on installing the bullet proofs antenna brake light mount. Wasn’t going to go that route because I didn’t want to mess with the headliner, this explains it well.

You don't really need to mess with the headliner to use the Bulletproof Mount. You can use a fishing tool from the outside of the cab to get through the edge of the headliner near the top of the rear window and the cable can just tuck up into headliner. You will likely need to pull the C pillar panel, and that is honestly much easier with the rear seat removed. I found that I bent one of the guide posts on he backside of the trim piece a bit on the removal/reinstall.

Yes didn’t realize how easy till I watched the video install. Going to order the single antenna from bullet proof, just can’t see needing a second antenna mount.

Other question is don’t need 15’ of cable so going to call them after I figure out how I’m going to route it and how long I need it to be. Hate a bunch of extra cable, since I can’t shorten it.

Do you know if the gasket on the ford light is replaceable? Time to do more research.
The main gasket that needs to work is the one between the Bulletproof mount and the cab, which is sufficient. The way the light attaches to the mount doesn't really give water a way to intrude (unless you're submerged, but water intrusion at the third brake light is the least of your problems in that scenario).

I have the excess cable just folded a few times and ziptied to a wireloom that runs down the C pillar.

In the past the Bulletproof team was responsive to requests for customization. If you want a shorter length, they should be able to accommodate your request.
