Called dealer 2 days ago for the first time and was told no Vin was available still but they will contact me when it pops up. I'm giving Ford 2 more weeks if still none I think I'm going to cancel the order 9 weeks to get a Vin is nuts.
Another question is does your dealer have allocation for a Superduty? If they don’t could explain why the vin is taking so long. My dealer had a allocation for 3 and took over 8 weeks to get a VIN but ordered just a few days before the plant was shutdown. With all that is going on ordering is not the relatively quick process it used to be.Called dealer 2 days ago for the first time and was told no Vin was available still but they will contact me when it pops up. Call them back today and tell them the rest of the world gets a VIN in a couple days and I will wait on the phone until you provide me with it. My dealer looked it up in literally 15 seconds.
I'm going to give them a call to day to see what is going on.Another question is does your dealer have allocation for a Superduty? If they don’t could explain why the vin is taking so long. Based on the comments I’ve read about info provided from dealerships - it appears there is a wide range of customer service Standards. I believe my dealership falls into the category of inexperience. I‘m under the impression that they do not special order very many vehicles and they have the “deer in the headlights look” when you ask them info about your placed order. My dealership is small and probably doesn’t have many people walk in and order a 75k truck. I’ve come to the conclusion that my information will come from this site. Good luck getting your vin & truck.Called dealer 2 days ago for the first time and was told no Vin was available still but they will contact me when it pops up. I called the dealer yesterday and pretty much got the run around. I was told to be more patient that the virus has everything screwed up. I told them 9 weeks and no Vin I'm walking.Based on the comments I’ve read about info provided from dealerships - it appears there is a wide range of customer service Standards. When I ordered the truck they told me the wait time was 8 to 12 weeks for delivery with about 2 weeks for a Vin. So here I am almost 8 weeks in and no vin and no update. I asked if they could contact Ford to see if there was a problem with my order like a part shortage or something and they replied NO. Now that's great customer service for somebody spending 60k plus.
Going to give it one more week and then walk. A different dealer down the road just received a tremor close to my build specs so it's tempting butSo you ended up walking? Good call if so.
I would have walked after 2 weeks with no VIN. I received my VIN 2 days after ordering. Sounds like they either don't have allocation or have no clue whats going on.
My salesman is more excited about my truck than I am, hes constantly emailing or calling me with updates on the status.
I just don't like backing out of a agreement but I feel like it's nuts not to get a update 8 weeks after ordering.Going to give it one more week and then walk. A different dealer down the road just received a tremor close to my build specs so it's tempting but

I know the wait time sucks unfortunately there are many valid reasons for delays now days. Your dealers response would worry me, I would be very suspect on their allocation since no VIN and not being up front with you on it. I ordered in Mar and it showed up 3 weeks ago with a Silver Spruce that was ordered in Dec. Waits can be pretty long depending on what you option. It was pretty long for me to get to get a vin, just over 8 weeks. I contemplated canceling to find a in stock option. My dealer was good at providing updates so stuck with them. Ultimately glad I waited. Who ever told you 8 to 12 was quoting pre shutdown since that is what I was told before the plant shutdown was announced. Unfortunately possibly of long waits are common nowadays. If re-ordering you will realistically have to wait until late this year or early next to take delivery of a 2021 being optimistic. I would find a different dealer if you do choose to go that route.I just don't like backing out of a agreement but I feel like it's nuts not to get a update 8 weeks after ordering.
Thanks for the feed back it at least feels good to vent a little. I think I will wait a few more weeks and if still no update move on to see if a different dealer can help me. A dealer down the road does have 2 tremors close to my build specs instock.I just spoke with my sales rep. last year I bought 30+ company vehicles from him so he treats me great. 2020Tremor is right...they either didn't have allocation or couldn't get your build in on time. My guy said, he's not gonna see that Truck. Go to another dealer and see if they can find you something close to what you ordered.
I'd call the GM...stop talking to your sales guy if that's who you're talking to. There's no conceivable reason that the dealer can't contact Ford to get this info. I'd even say look I'm on a dedicated Tremor forum talking to guys every day ordering these trucks and they all got their VINs after a week or so, not 8-9 weeks.I called the dealer yesterday and pretty much got the run around. Friend's f-150 just showed up at the dealership. Took 10 weeks from when it was ordered and not once were they able (or maybe willing) to give him an update. I ordered Tremor August 11 and I'm curious what the delivery times will be for trucks ordered around this time. Maybe it will come as a 2021...lol.
My order was placed on July 27th. I just got an update from my dealer that my build is scheduled for September 25th. Should be at the dealer around 2nd week in October. Around 12 weeks from order seems to be the norm. Hope that helps.
