Ford pass points

My local dealer service guy told me to take the number of points I have and multiply by .005 to get the dollar value of my points. Seems to work out correctly that way based on my prior math.
That lines up with the 200 points per dollar figure (0.005 is the same as 1/200). Perfect!

My truck was delivered to my house in January so the dealership never walked me through the process of setting up my Ford Pass or telling me you only have a certain amount of time to activate the modem. They basically dropped off the truck, I handed them the pre-signed paperwork and my check, and they were gone. (They delivered it 245 miles to my house for free, so I was happy I did not have to drive 6+ hours and deal with the finance guy in the dealership...)

Three months later I finally get around to adding the Tremor to my Ford Pass account, but I still do not see the points. I called the Ford Pass 1-800 number to ask about my 75,000 points and they said there was nothing they could do about it. (which is total BS, but those "are the rules" according to the girl and her supervisor) Since they could tell I was not happy after spending $75K on a brand new truck, they said to call my selling dealership to see what they could do for me.

After talking to my salesman, he realized it was their fault for not doing a proper new car orientation, so they dealership agreed to "buy" my points and add them to my Ford Pass account. The points showed up an hour later and I just used them today to get my first oil change. The cost for the oil change was 27,000 points, so I have enough for two more oil changes, based on the extra points I had in the account before buying the truck.

Is there a fee to activate/use the “modem”?
Nope. I am pretty sure they want everyone to use FordPass before they give you the "free points" so they can track our activity. I turned all of the tracking options off, but I am sure they can still get what they need from us to justify the points.

My plan is to pull the fuse for the modem after activation. Hoping that won't eliminate my points, but guarantees they can't get any data from the truck.

(It's fuse 8 in the cabin fuse panel. Don't have my truck yet, so can't speak to it having any side effects.)
